Some answers, and some silence. Elaboration on those players not currently available for selection would have been helpful, but I imagine it might have been difficult without scrutiny of lawyers.
Updates like this on a regular basis would be useful, perhaps at least monthly if not fortnightly for the next couple of months. Preston did appear to be sincere and I think does care about the club. However that care will need to be evidence by sound decision making in appointing the right manager with proven successful experience - not a cast off, and player recruitment.
Preston is clearly a much better communicator than Eben and so sorting out a communications strategy would be beneficial to all.
The John Yems saga, whatever we feel about the outcome, is done and we need to move on, just one of the reasons I guess why Preston made no mention of it.
1) he sat in the Dugout at Stevenage to show support to players and a rookie coach. Maybe a hint he regretted it
2) Nichols sold because we already have a short forward in Telford, and he's cracking on a bit. Contract coming to an end, and unlikely to be renewed
3) Etherington left, not sacked. No micromanagement, but was told not to play Nichols due to risk of injury
I'm quietly impressed. Seems sincere and reasonably humble given the situation
Also due to speak to ctsa tomorrow
I thought he sounded like a bumbling fool.
Club website says ME left by mutual consent, according to Galley "it has become clear to all involved parties that this partnership is not the right fit to carry the club forward and achieve our goals. As a result, we have mutually decided to move in a different direction". So the story is not straight on that one.
Said they were expecting Nichols performance to decline due to age....he is 29 FFS.
And as for sitting on the bench at Stevenage, well it's too late to get that genie back in the bottle.
I shudder when I think the future of the club is in the hands of these clowns. Eben making a fool of himself on Twitter and Preston doing it on YouTube.

Also didn’t Nichols have the option to extend his contract for another year?

Even more reason to sell isn't it? Its interseting that the subtext was "we all ready have a short striker, who is substantially younger. We don't need two, so off he went"
Ignorant. Nichols is totally different player to Telford. Can play deeper like inbetween midfield and forwards, tip of a diamond. The circus clown juggling balls speaks like a baboon chewing sawdust.

Yes, Nichols can play a deeper role more readily than Telford. But that ship has sailed as Nichols has gone.
How can anyone take these Wagmi clowns seriously! Everything they do is a car crash
I thought he came across as humble and apologetic looking to move things forward in the best way and his reasoning was very clear and made sense especially re Tom even if they were maybe over cautious not playing him.

Lets not throw the baby out with the bath water
The Moonshiner failed and is now playing the sympathy card to try and get Supporters back on side.
I thought thay update was very decent and very fair. He's not asking you to agree just giving you an explanation, which made sense
It's his money paying for the players after all and like every owner he will make some decisions he thinks best.
I think we just need a manager in now hopefully with some experience. Reduce the bloated squad and perhaps add some experience I a couple of position. I do think we need to clear out some order players who have done well. But we need a fresh start imo.

But if the reason for selling him was that they’re too similar (which they’re not) then it’s a point worth making isn’t it?
