It is very worrying if Preston is saying the sale of Nichols to Gillingham was a footballing decision as that makes no sense at all. He is not too old at 29 and his size doesn't matter as some of the greatest players of all time are small so that is ridiculous and saying him and Telford are too similar is nonsense and suggests the people making footballing decisions are not even watching the matches, Nichols has been operating as an attacking midfielder or old school number 10 and Dom Telford is an out and out striker so these are 2 completely different positions. Then from a footballing of view it make even less sense to sell one of your best players mid season to a relegation rival strengthening their squad. So I do not see how this sale makes sense from a footballing point of view. I'm starting to think I'd be less concerned if he was sold from a financial point of view as at least that could be easily explained logically, this point to the people in charge of making footballing decisions to be making arbitrary illogical footballing decision.
The CTSA is starting to remind me of the Chap who Interviews the CTFC Manager after each League Game. He/They avoid asking the crunch questions. If you are not careful CTSA you will be Brandished as the New Rishi Sunak!
I cant believe you didnt enquire more into Francomb, Craig & Hess? I cant belive you didnt ask about the New Recruitment Analyst who started before Xmas? I cant believe you didnt ask about the January Spending Potential? Pounds or Dollars? I cant believe you didnt ask how close we are to getting a New Manager on Board? I cant believe you didnt ask about the Good Quality Midfielder Promised by Wagmi after the Club Vote earlier this season?
CTSA, there is only 1 THING ABOVE that I didnt know already before I read it! That is confirmation that WAGMI have Sufficient RESERVE Funds in Place which is Cash & Not Cryptos! And That Could be True or Untrue! Please dont Pussy Foot Around at the Next Meeting. Ask the Questions we ALL want the answers to! Thanks

Hi Crawley57Away, I hope you are well. Thanks for your comments. If you know me, I am up for a chat and to discuss anything you want. I will be at the Doncaster game if you would like to discuss these further. To answer these questions, I would like to point you to the third paragraph which says "During the meeting on Sunday, a number of matters were discussed in confidence. We are grateful for Preston’s honesty and candour in the meeting, and whilst we cannot share the specific details of some elements of our discussion at this time". Just because the answer doesn't appear on the statement, doesn't mean it wasn't asked.
We very much questioned about those 3 players but Preston was unable to elaborate on that point in the meeting. Whilst we did push, he has been advised not to comment for now. Preston did say that they have hired someone to help Chris Galley on the football side of things. In regards to January, "Preston has stated that despite rumours to the contrary, the club/WAGMI United are not short on money". We asked about a new manager and were told "they are hiring a manager with League experience". No precise time frame was given although with all of the news reports, it seems that it is likely to be before the Doncaster game.
We are hoping that there will be another meeting with Preston soon. There will also should be a fans forum at some point as the club look towards the future.
I hope that answers your questions. We are pleased that Preston was willing to meet us and answer most of our questions. However, we are still concerned about the future of our football club. We will be continuing to investigate and engage with the club about the way it is run and to ensure that the owners are being transparent and honest

I think having a burly striker to help feed Dom is preferable to having Tom but we haven't got one yet. Akinde moved from Gillingham to Colchester for no fee as he mutually agreed a termination of his contract (I read and assume true) and although probably not my first choice somebody of that type is badly needed to add some strength and holding ability to the front line. Omar Bogle is another who springs to mind and we have seen a few big lumps here this year who just prove a handful to mark and feed off for others - Tom couldn't do this and if we have Dom we need to use him in the best way.

Yes a targetman to play off Telford would help a lot, but there was no reason why we couldn't have incorporated Nichols in as an attacking midfielder even with a targetman to play off Dom. We have a poor record in recent times with targetmen and the only 3 decent players I can think of who played this type of role in my near 20 years of watching Crawley were Ollie Palmer, Tyrone Barnett and Craig Mcallister.

Ok first off we have a big burly striker to act as target man for Telford. He's called Aramide Oteh. Why he's not playing in a front two with Telford baffles me.
Secondly, why do we need to sell Nichols in order to get a new striker in? Answer is, we don't. We could have utilised him as an attacking midfielder playing behind the strikers. Galley, Wagmi, and evidently you have some very strange ideas about the team. Sadly, Nichols has gone, and needs replacing. Selling him when Nadesan is injured is crazy.

The main thing you needed to get across to this fools is there IS RELEGATION from league 2 (I doubt they even know that) and the club will be finished forever if we get relegated. Did you make that clear or did you avoid the one single most important statement you HAD to make?

We told him how difficult it was to get out of the National League in. He knows how much money Wrexham are playing with at the moment and the level that we would have to contend with.

"Preston did say that they have hired someone to help Chris Galley on the football side of things" any alarm bells rung at that point? Preston didnt mention anyone that can tie shoe laces by any chance did he?

He may not have heard me amongst the other input, but I spelled this out quite clearly last year at the bowling alley. In case he wasn't already aware I explained (respectfully, I might add) that there is a very narrow pipeline between L2 and National League. I even went as far to say that although it's two down and two up, only the top club comes up and the the second one coming up is a 1-in-4 play-off gamble. I went on to tell him that the fear of going down is palpable because there is probably no way back. Bear in mind this conversation was about a week before Betsy was sacked. Unfortunately, someone else had a lengthy and lively conversation just after this and, although respectful, it may have drowned out what I had to say.
I get the Impression that Old Moonshiner is not prepared to listen to, or take on any advice offered to him. It will come back and bite him on his backside !!
Sounds mostly like they are trying to appease the CTSA and as such I believe very little of what Preston and his other band of investors have to say.
the proof will be in the pudding, firstly by bringing in a L2 experienced manager not someone with half a seasons experience but who has been in relegation fights and possibly promotion winning teams.
re-instate the 3 players who appear to now be surplus to requirements even though we don't have a manager to even judge if they want them as part of the setup
bring in a CEO who has ran a club before and again knows how to run a smaller team and over achieve (not an easy ask this tbf)
once these things are in place we can then try and look forward but without doing the above i fear it will be to late and the nail could be being banged into the coffin by mid to late Feb
