Those clever bugger web analysts at Amazon are a sophisticated bunch... they sent me a link to THIS BOOK as they thought I might be interested... gotta say that I'm half-tempted... anyone read it..?
Be fair, Thad, in the original post you never asked whether the book was any good, only if anyone had read it.
JB provided a 100% accurate answer to your question.
I did not suggest that he hadn't Phil... an accurate & VERY concise answer.
..which IMHO failed to meet the standard of intellectual exchange & informative dialogue that we have come to expect from his broadcast career.
Well thank you Jeffrey for your kind words, and sorry for falling short of the standards I have clearly set 👍😉
I have read a number of these types of book lately, this is certainly worth a read, covering following Portsmouth on the road over two seasons. Having visited all the grounds mentioned, you can picture the scenes created. If you like reading what people ate and drank at these grounds as well, then you'd enjoy the book as all grounds are rated on this criteria as well. The football and Pompey's fortunes provide a sub-plot almost, with mentions for the likes of Tubbs and Barker.
I would certainly recommend it, along with "Roots to the 92" which I'm currently reading.

Very helpful JB, I have a natural healthy antithesis to anything recommended to me by an Amazon algorithm - I'm guessing it is based on my purchasing history which includes Sergio's book - but they raised my curiosity this time and I cannot think of anyone more qualified to review it than you. I'm also pleased that like myself the author takes matchday refreshments seriously (chips with onion gravy at Accrington still takes some beating).
