If Mersin has gone you have to feel a bit sorry for him, just 8 or 9 years ago Liverpool were writing a cheque for £1m and here he is at 24 not even able to get into a L2 team, a real case of where did it all go wrong, I just hope he doesn't turn into Lev Yashin on speed at another club
Unfortunately he isn't good enough to play league football three bridges is probably the right level for him

Mersin needs to play games..he will become a decent goalkeeper in the lower leagues once he starts to play regularly. In the jpt trophy matches he played this season he had made a big improvement from season before. Games will give him confidence

Harsh and untrue.
Harsh but true Jonny Maddison was a better keeper, and lets face it we only signed Yusuf Mersin due to his Turkish connections when the new owner took over it is about time we had a competent 2nd keeper and lets face it he is only at / been at CTFC this long because he wont command a high wage
if he is really as good as some seem to think keep him as 3rd keeper and loan him out, i bet a league club wont touch him

If we look at the "handshake" deal with Nadesan, the key point seems to be that he is from around these parts...
So, is that what we ought to be looking for... Players who want to based in a catchment area, 50 miles wide between Croydon & Brighton...?
Can't think of too many off the top, obviously "the one that got away" Louis John, plus a couple of elder statesman, Gareth Barry & maybe more realistically Russell Martin (who i recommended to our club when he was still at Varndean).
Any other South London, Surrey & Sussex lads out there...?
I remember talking with a friend who’s spoken to Mersin in depth and he’s loved being coached by Glenn but of course the lack of game time he’s unhappy about. Especially his family! I hope he finds a good side he can start in now he’s gone. As for a replacement why not use our forgotten under 23 team or pickup a free agent if one is around.
I know the name John Yems appears fairly regularly on the forum, but (if he is still available) now is the time the club really need to be talking to him...
...i don't even think it requires a formal role, but he has shown us previously that he has the knowledge & contacts to get in the right sort of player that suits the team & our budget, get him involved.

I don't see how adding another voice into the equation would help. Unless he is the manager, which he clearly doesn't have relevant experience for, I don't see what he would have to offer as we already have a manager, assistant manager and first team coach.

He got a few decent players in when he was here then went on to be in charge of recruitment at Exeter & Bournemouth, he joined them when they were below us in L1... Don't most clubs have a recruitment specialist who liaises with the Manager and reports to the DoF...?
As i say, doesn't have to be a formal position, just seems a bit daft not to get him to open his little black book at this stage of proceedings.
