Only person who had a worse first-half than Doherty was the ref. But Doherty was our man in the right place for a great goaline clearance 2nd half to redeem himself.
Agree Thad. The referee today had an absolute shocker and I too was waiting for Doherty to be shown a second yellow for that reckless tackle. On the balance of play, we certainly deserved the win. Played some good stuff at times. Note to Cioffi - put Palmer on penalty taking duty from now on. Morris made some important saves - a much better game from him. Another good win, if we can keep the current form going then hopefully more people will come and watch and attendances will slowly climb
Totally agree Morris back to top form after some indifferent games this season - the old cliche class is permanent.
Delighted for the new lad at the back. Dallison is my only challenger to Bez as player of the season so not to miss him that much is great testament to our new squad
We were clearly the better team today. All our midfielders were excellent today and Ferguson unlucky he had to be the tactical sacrifice. Bloomfield looked good tucked behind Palmer.
True enough & Palmer had won a lot of 1st ball throughout, so it made sense.
However... the changes also meant that our "move it on at pace" approach, arguably kept the game more open - right up to the final whistle - than was really necessary...(?)
A very entertaining game and another win that should please our watching owner. A few observations Palmer should be restored to penalty duties Sendles-White had an assured home debut, we now have I think 4 decent CB's Doherty had a mare first half but was very good in the second, his goal line clearance was vital. This team is the finest we have had I believe since we came down from Div 3 For the first time since the old king was on the throne our bench is very strong, each sub made doesn't weaken the team. Man of the match for me was Morris, so pleased he never wants to leave Crawley. We would be certs for at least the playoffs if we converted more of our shots to goals scored Oh well another 38 points should see us safe
As a postscript: I have mentioned previously - in relation to improved fitness this season - that the subs are now being put through a decent workout at halftime...
...but also on Saturday, the team emerged from the tunnel for the 2nd half, performing a coordinated warm-up drill too.
We are definitely taking it more seriously and it is paying off...!
Exciting times ahead if we can keep this up. Also a fair amount of frustration that the team is giving us a team to be proud of yet all the excitement seems to be focused on the cup run. I’m pleased that Gabby is taking the cup seriously and great to see a full house, but how can we only get 2k when we are doing well and the sun is shining. Even the media/twitter reports seem to have no enthusiasm for winning league games! Twitter went into meltdown after Norwich as if the 11 had performed with the skill of Barcelona and the hearts of gladiators for a historic premiership scalp. It was a Norwich reserve side, and it’ll be the same for stoke. In my opinion we’ve played better so far this season and we certainly will again going forward. Let’s enjoy the cups, but focus on the league not the other way round.

I would have to disagree, it wasn’t Norwich’s reserve apart From Pukki Cantwell and Stieperman they essentially had a lot of first teamers playing whilst the majority came on in the second half it shows just how good the result was. Roberts was their standout for me.

They made 11 changes you can’t get more reserve than that. If they changed the majority 2nd half then that definitely needs looking into.

Pah...Crawley Town are better than Man City, the evidence is undeniable...
...well, six of those "Norwich Reserves" featured in their win over the team that won the three senior domestic trophies last season (another stayed on the bench & Roberts was not permitted to appear)... surely, more than enough to satisfy the most forensic analysis of our claim...?
A good battling performance but a shame about the attendance.
I remember watching the DVD of the season we won promotion from the Conference and noting how low the crowds were at the start...until around Christmas when people started to realise that maybe...just maybe, we’d be in with a shout of going up, then the crowds increased. Give it time.

Norwich were without 11 players for city game yet only 3 that started against us started against city showing how much of a reserve team it was. All this talk of us now being able to beat city is a little bit cringe. Let’s not take anything away from the players, Norwich reserves are still decent Championship side but Tuesday night is far more important. Let’s see how many turn up for that.

Are you seriously suggesting that (for a few days at least) Crawley Town are not better than Man City...? you should have your stripes removed Tiger... shame on you.
I have done a quick assessment (my 1st was based on recall during MoTD) and there was 12 (twelve) Norwich players who were either in the starting XI or on the bench for both matches (Crawley/Man City)... twelve... and that disregards the ineligible Roberts.
You know... the 1st match where we beat Norwich and the other match where they beat the current holders of the Premier League title, FA Cup & League Cup winners... with their reserves.
See off Stoke and we might even get a chance to face the buggers ourselves.
