Meant to offer thanks to Alain Harper for kindly offering me a ticket to the East Stand. Very nice gesture.
Unfortunately i am the official Carer & Responsible Adult for a particular section of terrace attendees & do not think they are anywhere near ready to be left unattended.
They'll be hoping for a new manager bounce but you can't fix a leaky defence over night. I foresee a solid away performance from us, restricting them to few chances and if we take a couple of the chances we'll inevitably create then we should be in with a good chance of victory.
Hoping to make it four wins from four visits for me at the Broadfield Stadium.
I thought Grego Cox was going for an early bath. That he didn't even get a yellow for catching their player high was a little odd (ok by me though). Unlike Creepy I thought he was left on too long. One way to tell if a player is knackered is by watching him not tracking back. He stopped about ten minutes before he was subbed. I do think he had a decent game though.
Early days but if you can keep a clean sheet you only need one to to win.

It works both ways. We are the official test audience for Thad's stream of Christmas cracker type jokes. If you think the ones you read on Christmas Day are bad, you should hear the ones that get rejected!

Christmas cracker jokes, lets hope we don’t have Trevor Kettle refereeing over the Christmas period. Ho, Ho, Ho

A bit late posting this but that was a hugely entertaining game.
Immediate impressions were that we outplayed, outthought and outfought a top 10 team and there was a solidity to the team that hasn't been apparent for some time, especially at the back - no bomb scares, no real hearts in the mouth moments - just solid, reliable defending. Given that we were conceding nearly two goals a game before Saturday, this was the most welcome change.
They started very well and I thought we would struggle but we gradually came more and more into the game and the rest of the first half was fairly even. The second half was pretty much all us and almost all the rest of the game was played in their half. The fact that we missed chance after chance and many of them outstanding chances - four one on ones - was frustrating but it was very pleasing that we were creating them in the first place.
Morris had one great save in the first half and the rest of his saves were routine. Big Joe and Tunnicliffe at the back were immense and missed nothing - I don't think Joe missed a header against Tom Pope. I am not the greatest support of Docherty but I thought he played well.
Bullie ran the midfield while Nathan did his usual strolling around. He is great on the ball and he is strong but he is just that half yard too slow. Bez continued to frustrate with a mixed game, some good work spoiled by his usual lack of focus and consistency.
I don't know why Reece was subbed I thought he was one of our best players up to then.
Bog Ollie was my man of the match - he missed nothing. I think he won every header and controlled and shielded the ball very well. Special mentions for Bullie who pushed him close and Big Joe.
