Can't help thinking that there are a few clubs out there, looking to strengthen, who have noticed that our squad is very large & might be running the rule over a few of our players...
...Ollie Palmer would be the obvious target but arguably a few of our younger - less proven - prospects might be considered a reasonable gamble now that they have league experience...?
Possibly i simply cannot help being a miserable git, but feel i am just being realistic that we might struggle to hang onto a few this January...!
Lets face it, being a miserable git is part of the DNA at Crawley Town.
every player has their price i just hope when the players move on we get decent money for them, we have a squad of about 31 i think so realistically we should be looking to trim that down to say 26 that 5 that need moving on before any additions come in

I heard this story the other night and there is some speculation on the Cheltenham fans forum that it is Ollie. Duff is known to be an admirer and Ollie has scored the only goal of the game in each of the last 3 meetings. However, it is nothing more than speculation at the moment. I know we need to sell players to survive but personally I'd be very disappointed if we start selling our better players to other teams in League 2.

Would Ollie be “Bettering himself” by moving to Cheltenham?

Just a sideways move IMHO.

I agree John, although doubtless they would make it worthwhile for him financially.
I be amazed if any Crawley players are snapped up for a fee. None have been consistant enough so anyone scouting would have doubts ahead of reporting back never mind recommending a player.
The only one we have potential of losing is Bez in my opinion. I believe Ollie is happy here but as is the case with any player if they get a large packet of money they won’t refuse it.
I suppose the other unknown is whether some of our signings who have yet to break through, are ready to make a contribution in the second half of the season...
the likes of Van Velzen & Boadu have had time to get their fitness sorted, the club must be looking for a return for their patience...(?)

But several have shown quality at times (Grego-Cox, Panutche, Bez, Palmer even ANG every now and then) and that surely would be enough to tempt some that they are better equipt to bring the best out of these players more consistently than we have?

If they’re under contract and a saleable asset they will be 🤔 I presume what you mean is that you predict that anyone leaving will be because we cancel their contracts.

I was thinking the same thing re Van Velzen and Boadu. Boadu got people excited given his past clubs but has hardly featured. Van Velzen has looked fairly promising in the games I have seen, has a lot of pace that could cause issues, but again doesn't seem to get much of a look in. They both look rather pointless signings given the already large squad size and their lack of game time outside of the Sussex Cup and JPT.
