I have a mate who lives in Luton and I pick him up and drop him off quite regularly after watching Rugby League up north. I can honestly say that Luton is the skankiest place I have ever been to. I often see random public order offences just driving from his house to the M1. On one occasion I saw a dozen masked youths attacking cars with hammers and crowbars. I was fortunate because as soon as I saw what was going on I spun round and headed towards Bedford. I reported it to the Police who stated that it sounded just like a normal Sunday night in Luton.

Not an excuse for vandalising property I know, but having lived for some some years just a few minutes walk from Three Bridges Station I can sympathise with the frustration caused by people dumping their cars, we used to have our close rammed with commuters 5 days a week with a fair sprinkling of holidaymakers cars parked for up to three weeks at a time, they would park next to the fire hydrant, on the grass, partly over peoples driveways, any old place that would save them a few quid for parking at the airport or with a reputable parking company, I can happily admit that I was sorely tempted to exercise the family sledgehammer a few times, it's certainly not a situation that the residents of Luton suffer on their own
ps neither the Council, DVLA or the Police were the slightest bit interested, not even when a little internet checking could prove that a car was untaxed or out of MOT

If taxed for parking on rd and legally parked and not causing obstruction or parked dangerously its basically tough luck on residents though a bit of publicity on the vandalism will no doubt put off most. Block a drive though even a couple if inches im sure you wont be the only one thinking of a sledgehammer. On seperate but parking related and related to the Broadfield.....when in conference the layby was well used including grass verge...now signs up preventing. Roads nearby again i say tough why shouldnt fans park (legally) there thats what rd tax entitles.
