Is anyone else a bit concerned with our lack of pre season games. As far as I know we’ve only had 3 games against U23 teams. That doesn’t seem enough and I don’t think anyone has played 90 minutes yet. Most other teams in league 2 have had games against other league 2 sides and higher. We start for real next weekend so I hope this doesn’t come back to bite us.
Its been a very unusual pre-season and I don't suppose arrangements have been easy. That said, presumably the inclusion of u23 teams in the tin pot trophy suggests the level isnt far off league 2, so maybe the preparation has been perfectly ok?
I am worried about the lack of games too. Also, about only playing u23 sides.
I just feel a game against a higher level non league side and a game against a league 1 side would have helped us more but maybe beggars can't be choosers. Maybe we have tried to set up games and been knocked back (I'm not party to any inside info).
I suspect the League cup game against Millwall will be used as a pre season game as well. There is no benefit to getting through in the league cup with no prize money or gate money.

If its not taken seriously that would be nothing but an insult to fans. A good draw in a subsequent round can bring high attendances and/or TV revenue so there is money to be made. After the brakes were put on with Covid the club should be keen to go not throw away this opportunity. I will be very angry if the club disrespect supporters with a poor line up and effort. If they cant be bothered they had better make that clear before any potential ifollow purchase.

In all honesty, we just don't have a very large squad of players in order NOT to play the strongest side available............ In Yems we trust !!!
