Now we know it's going to be Harry Kewell and his assistant Warren Feeny, little bit about them.......Harrys one and only managers job was Watford under 23 and That was not good, he never won a game from October to April and was consistently getting beaten by teams 8-0 and a lot of other poor results. On the back of that and his lack of commitment to the job,Watford let him go. He has an academy in Australia that's full time and at certain times has to be there, and that could cause a problem with us. I can't help think he was only given the job because of our owners, and his connection with Turkish football.(galatasaray) Then there is Warren who we all know from Newport who also did a poor job.......7 wins from 34 games, then got sacked!!!! So these are the two guys that are going to take our club forward,so where is the local guy that ziya wanted that knows the club and knows what the club means to the fans,so we get 2 men that have never even been to Crawley before apart from warren when he came with Newport FC to play us.in my opinion not a good appointment

Kewell wouldn't be anywhere near my list of potential candidates.
If ZE's waited three weeks to appoint Kewell I will be hugely disappointed.
If ZE's waited three weeks to appoint someone like Cotterill, Powell, Hasselbaink or Adkins then I will completely accept the thorough process and be very pleased to have one of them in charge.

Hi stanza,
Can you give us a bit more information please? Where did you get this information from?

Would love to know how you got this information and I hope It's wrong.
Looks like a couple of interesting appointments. Kewell and Feeney will create some interest in the media. Don't think either is local to the area mind.
I think this might be a good thing, a recognised club and international player, people actually have heard of him, will bring in people through the gates, young and enthusiastic, the dawning of a new era for Crawley Town Fc...

I don't know about young and enthusiastic...my lad is 16 and didn't have a scooby who Harry Kewell is.
Still let's see whether it's fact or fiction before passing judgement.
Seems a complete turnaround from Dermot, who seemed to buy into the local community side of things even if his football was ultimately pretty boring, safety first and unsuccessful. You google Kewell and he seems to have things going on all over the world and it wouldnt go down well if he spent too much time on other projects. I well remember when we appointed Steve Wicks a big name in the 1990s and he sold us a great vision but all he did was spend money on average players, spent much time away from the club and didnt get involved greatly in local stuff. Also with Kewell being young and ambitious, if he is successful with us I cannot see us keeping him very long before he is poached, and if he isnt successful then we are back to square one? I do really want whoever comes in to make a success of it but also want it to offer some continuity and to see us grow rather than any short term instant gratification which ultimately gets us no further forward. Good luck to whoever it is though and I will certainly be renewing my S/T (even if it is somebody obnoxious such as Cotterill, but may draw the line at Westley!).
