Just watched the highlights and Yem's post match interview. Looked like both sides had chances and the first two goals were pretty decent. Exeter's winner well what can I say totally preventable, a rare brain fart by Morris. Yem's is not an interviewers dream. Totally defensive from the off but I do find his responses quite funny. He really doesn't give a feck about anyone's opinion.
Disappointing result to lose it so late and to a really poor goal.
Another disgraceful interview from Yems, surely someone at the club should have word with him and tell him to be more respectful. He comes across really badly and this is getting beyond a joke now, that’s about 3 times already this season he’s been downright rude and arrogant and the season has barely begun. His attitude stinks- it portrays the club in a bad light and alienates the fans.
Yems is fortunate there are no fans in the ground as a repeat of his substitutions say at home, next match, if the game isnt going our way could easily see fans turn on him. Never forget the hand that feeds your mouth. Quite a big gobby one too!
As others have said its an OG putting this out. Its hugely embarressing and smacks of Yems being a very bad loser unprepared to accept his part in that loss. That for me is the most worrying aspect.
The interview was a bit unfortunate, however he was clearly fuming and it can't be easy having a mic stuck in your face 10 mins after the final whistle when you have just thrown points away through a defensive error.
On the other hand I don't have a problem seeing him being passionate about the job. I would much rather that than listen to the clap trap that we used to get from Barker, Yates, Gregory etc.
We have to go forward and keep the pressure against these sides, instead we make some really bad substitutes to try and keep the three points and throw the game away
Previous Crawley Town Manager's have always struggled in using their substitutes :-
Cioffi, who had no tactical nous whatsoever, would replace like for like even when chasing the game and needing a goal;
Drummy, God Bless him, had the knack of staying loyal to his signings and only use his substitutes as a last resort to keep the Fans happy;
Yates, the players he had at his disposal didn't have the ability to make any difference;
Barker, didn't want to use any substitutes, even when quite clearly, his game plan wasn't working;
Gregory, I saw him replace the hopeless James Hurst after twenty minutes to actually change the game for the better, but, alas that was as good as he got;
Evans, on the other hand, did have a damn good squad and with players on the bench that could and would change a game.
I don't blame or criticize Yems at all for his comments. Reporters know that he is candid and straightforward. The questions he was asked were lazy, cliched and predictable - as is so often the case now. Most managers play the game and answer in equally ridiculous, meaningless cliches and get away with it.
It was ludicrous to ask someone like Yems questions that begin with phrases like, "eyebrows were raised", implying he knows better than the manager. What kind of answer did he expect from such a patronising and disrespectful question?
It is time to shake off the lethargy and the laziness and ask properly thought out, respectful questions.

Take your point, these interviews can be so anodyne. However, my son has just sent me the clip through. I think there are ways of bringing these interviews to life without being as boorish and rude as he was.
John has just posted some reflections on his interview after last nights game. It is on the OS I liked the phrase where he compares his tact with Donald Trump. I still prefer to listen to John.
Is is worth mentioning that no-one moaned about the changes he made a few days earlier...?
At Exeter we dropped two points as a direct result of a very rare misjudgement by our brilliant Keeper... however his status ensures that it does not diminish the esteem in which he is held whatsoever.
That is football, you make decisions & you live with the consequences, but invariably people only remember the ones that failed to succeed.
Unfortunately for our Head-Coach he has nowhere to hide when living with the consequences of his decisions. He needs to accept that part of the job description is that win, lose or draw you will be facing the media within half-hour of the final whistle & he need to better prepared at dealing with it.
I do not have a problem with John Yems apart from the way he puts the information out.
At the end if the match I wanted to know (I do not have a right to know) why Watters was subbed. I surmised he was shattered but its hard to tell from a TV screen. I wanted to know why Hessenthaler was subbed. He looked to be playing well. Was he too out of gas? Ditto Frost. I wanted John to come out, recognise Morris had made a mistake but stick up for him because of all the good things his done and, to be fair, he did.
I like the bluntness but I like to get some information more.
Yems has been nominated for Numpty of The Week by Alan Brasil on TalkSport for his post match interview
We all know that some successful & experienced Managers - Fergie, Arsene & in particular Jose, to name a few - would draw attention away from their players, by a choice remark to the media after a defeat...
...only, you got the distinct impression they were in control of the situation & even enjoyed it...!
