Anyone seen Ian Townshend lately. He'll probably give an idea of what he is like.
Meanwhile I found this.

Im pretty sure I haven’t quite lost the plot totally yet, but do my eyes deceive me or was it a trick of editing, but he scored eight goals in one game against East Grinstead?! Worth a punt on that alone.
I wouldn't get too carried away East Grinstead are basically a pub team. I wonder why Hastings have let go of him now? Struggling financially no doubt and anyway welcome Davide and hope you have a successful time at the club.
Davide turned down a contract offer from Scunthorpe United to sign for us - according to the Hastings Chairman, both clubs matched their valuation for the player.
Come on JB - you know all teams below the Premier are pub sides

Understandable given we will be much closer for him so he doesn’t have to relocate.
JB remembers, I'm sure you do too Alain and Cheltenham and Alf and...many more.
It's amazing how far we've come!

Yes, that was certainly the must win game at the time and the big East/West Sussex Derby in the Southern League, plus a few encounters in the FA Cup and Sussex Professional Cup. Looking at those clips, seeing that big stand behind the goal at the Pilot Field brings back some memories. It hasn't changed much in 50 years and there were some feisty encounters both on and off the pitch at that time!
They do seem to be producing some good young players now though and I'm looking forward to seeing what Rodari can do. As others say, this is the sort of policy we should be following rather than bringing in the likes of Barnyard. I think our current management are pretty pragmatic about this and hopefully we can foster some local links, maybe by loaning out some of our younger players who will need some game time. As you say Jim, we have come a long way!

Yes and I remember the games that were called off as we arrived on a couple occasions and the match being abandoned at half time - our matches against them were either at Christmas or Easter and usually a bit feisty as well. Battle of Hasting re-visited.
Yes it was Boxing Day 1994 postponed as we pulled up into the car park, Boxing Day 1996 abandoned at halftime and the rearranged game postponed again as we pulled into the car park, then Boxing Day 1998 postponed after 35 minutes.
