Came up to every single away supporter to shake hands with in recognition for being there, I think it was York away in the non-league days. We have a lot to thank the former Chairman for. RIP Vic Marley.
A thoroughly nice man and a true Gentleman with a good sense of humour and would always find time for a chat.
I’ll always remember Vic trying to find Michael Bostwick in Redz to present him with a bottle of Champagne on his Man of the Match award. I did advise Vic that Bostwick was only seventeen and not old enough to drink !!
He stood tall and worked hard when the club was at its lowest ebb, we have people like him to thank for keeping the show on the road and giving us the chance for the big recovery over the past decade
I remember a re-arranged game away against Altrincham one cold Tuesday evening when there were just 3 of us in the away end (I think Alf was one and the other I'd brought with me, who wasn't a fan of either club). Vic came over at half time and had a chat.
