Not a great game as soon as Walsall scored they were looking to spoil the game and waste time. A last minutes pen gets us a point but really we needed 3 against a side that were nothing special.
Today we had 2 forwards that were not up to it and players that were not even performing at average. Poor game in which we deserved no more than a point and even then Walsall must feel they were robbed of two points. Not good enough. Yeah I get priority is survival and staying up; its just so frustrating having had a glimpse of hope with players like Watters and now we are no better then an average league 2 team.

FT 1-1. Typical lower league game and atypical of the last few games. Not much in the game all. Walsall were the better team in the first half, we were the better team in the second half. Walsall goal came against the run of play around the hour mark after a questionable penalty. We huffed and puffed and didn’t look like getting back into it and then their keeper clattered into Tunnicliffe after a routine free kick into the box and luckily Nichols smashed the penalty into the roof of the net this time. We deserved something out of this game, but didn’t do enough to win it. Lots of diving and gamesmanship from Walsall. Got what they deserved in the last minute. Need wins if we are to get into the play offs, but it keeps our season alive a bit longer.

If Hesketh is injured long term - forget the play-offs. We all know John Yems is a good talent scout, we all know he's pretty good with his formations, but he is not up to it when chasing games. He should have moved Francombe immediately on 55 mins as soon as they scored, why wait for over 10 mins. Small things like that that will cost us unfortunately.

Thanks for the description of the last 2 minutes Alex.
we tried to overplay it to many times when attacking. Maguire drew put in some useful balls into the box. I thought the team looked tired i the first half. To many balls in the air.

We need a PLAN B JOHN! Your a good PLAN A Manager, your a good talent scout, your a good man manager also, but you never have a good PLAN B when we are chasing games. No PLAN B v Harrogate, No Plan B v Morecambe, No Plan B tonight. After 55 mins tonight, we need goal scorers & midfielders driving into the box. No better midfielder driving into the box than Francomb, but you put on Wright who starts passing sideways again. We are are all happy with your PLAN A, we are all happy with you as a Manager - but we need a better PLAN B. Tonight we got a Lucky Point in the end!
We huffed and we puffed and their keeper smashed the Tunnicliffe down.
There are many players out there who need to look at themselves tonight. They had the excuse of the wind in the first half but the lack of quality of our passing and the lack of midfielders showing for the ball in the second was stark.
Got away with that. Glad we did but we aint good enough for promotion if we can't beat a team who haven't won in fifteen games.

Such a shame that the loan window is shut. There's a certain former CTFC striker sat on the bench doing naff all at Cardiff week in week out who we could really do with right now.
Possibly a valuable point in the end and great that Nichols has put his misses behind him but we could do with being able to score more than once in a game eventually.
Shows there is spirit in the team, whether there is quite enough up front for promotion is more of an open question
Think that is the real positive from the last few weeks... we keep plugging away even when it is not quite clicking. Just as well... cos it takes us so many chances to score a goal, we need to have that resilience.
