Today we had 2 forwards that were not up to it and players that were not even performing at average. Poor game in which we deserved no more than a point and even then Walsall must feel they were robbed of two points. Not good enough. Yeah I get priority is survival and staying up; its just so frustrating having had a glimpse of hope with players like Watters and now we are no better then an average league 2 team.
We have been a bang average L2 team for the last few years. Hadn't you noticed? Sometimes very good, sometimes awful, always inconsistent. We are not a moneybags club anymore. Unless/until we get a massive cash injection we are unlikely to go back up to L1 again. A decade as a League club is amazing, more than any of us ever imagined we could achieve. The occasional thrilling cup run as well. Staying in L2 is and will always be the priority, anything else is a bonus.
We should have done everything to keep Watters until the end of the season though. That move hasn't really worked out for him, or for us - as far as performances on the pitch go. Financially of course it was the right thing to do, but a loan back until the end of the season would have been brilliant. Poor Max might be regretting leaving us now.

Agree with all of that. Having said that, Max has been banging 'em in for their U23s, so may get his chance.

...IMHO financially it was the ONLY thing to do, simply because it was too big a gamble to reject a million pound offer at that point, with no guarantee of the outcome if the asset is retained...(?)
For those complaining we have no plan B and struggle chasing games. Just a reminder to the match V Torquay where we came from behind 4 (?!) times, match against AFC Wimbledon where we came from behind, game v Barrow where we were 2 1 down and came back to win 4 2....
Not sure if the link opens at the right photo, but look at the fourth photo in the gallery. While our keeper led with his leg/knee, as all keepers do, it's clear from the photo that he punches the ball first before any contact with your player. Even then the contact is body to body and not foot/knee to head, as you are implying.
The referee told our manager he gave the penalty because in his view, the keeper made contact with the player before the ball, which it doesn't look that way to me.
While you are looking at the gallery, also take a look at the one where Nichols has his foot in the chest of our player. Would you say that is out of control and deserving of a red card? Did Nichols get booked for it? Could the ref not see that one? :-)
Any way, I didn't come on here looking for a fight, but looking some advice please.
I've e-mailed your club twice on the feedback@crawleytownfc.com e-mail address, asking if they produced a match day programme and team sheet for last nights match, without reply. Who would you recommend I contact at the club to get a response and do you have a direct e-mail address to them please?
If anyone else is interested, I have the corresponding team sheet and eProgramme for the fixture at our place earlier in the season. Drop me a DM with an e-mail address if any of you want a copy.

Yep agree with this. Value could’ve halved by the end of the season, and his form completely peter out next season, before being released. Then everyone would be moaning we hadn’t cashed in. Cardiff were the ones taking the risks, hence why suggestions of getting £2-3m for him were just ridiculous.

Good luck for the rest of the season.
Agree to disagree on our penalty. Personally thought he had not shown due care for his opponent when he jumped to punch the ball. Lets be honest, anywhere else on the pitch its a foul all day long but keepers get away with so much they often think they are allowed to do things like that.
As for the programme. I dont think we have produced a programme this season (Leeds excepted). There is a tweeted teamsheet every game. I will try to link here but if I fail just go to the twitter link up top and scroll through for it.
By the way. I thought your bearded midfield player, Sinclair, was quite a tidy player.

I appreciate you coming on here. It's always good to hear from opposing fans. I will have to respectfully disagree with you though on our penalty. Yes, the keeper does get to the ball first, but he goes in with his foot up and makes contact with our player. It was a totally reckless challenge. There was absolutely no need for him to go jumping in with his foot up like that. There's a better angle of the incident below.
Thanks for the responses and in particular to Jim Baker for the link to the Twitter team sheet info. Much appreciated. All the best for the rest of the season. UTS
