I just find the anti Yems views daft....but hey what do I know - we play in red, I support them completely, I know a few of the backroom staff, I actually think Yemsy was great choice as manager and has done a good job in incredibly difficult circumstances, I have followed the club since DM days. Those that have been around me for many years in the stand would not give Yems a" backlash", as I say if you get the chance talk to the fella, he is knowledgable, honest and a decent bloke.....as I say what do I know.
If you are not allowed to go to the game the best you can do is watch the stream. As all of us can see it s not the best angle (especially when a phantom hand and notepad get in the way) but needs must.

Are the media not allowed at games at our level then?
They have only just been allowed to attend the away games. Hence the normal commentator, Gary, has only just started to do them. They have been allowed at home games.
Of course, the reporter and paper may have decided it was safer and more responsible during this pandemic to watch the game on the streaming service. Pure supposition on my part as I don't know if that is what has been happening but if it is then its a perfectly valid way of going about his business.
“They’ll always try for the club the real supporters” “True fans of Crawley Town are great fans they get behind you, but we don’t need the negativity, I don’t give two monkeys what people say or think about me…...we can all be smart and sit behind computers and tell everyone else what we are doing wrong…...there’s loads of people telling what I’m doing...lets cut out the negativity, maybe the fans should come with a bit more policing, it used to be a laugh here on the forums you know back in the day because there was people, a set of people in there that kept the didilos off of it...it just frustrates me more than anything having known quite a few of the Crawley supporters and the real supporters, people that pay their money every week to come out, everyone is entitled to say what they do and what they say”
Having now listened to the club manager's post-match interview I am gobsmacked absolutely gobsmacked of his silly stupid unhelpful remarks. You go on about if only the fans could've been there well you didn't say that after Carlisle John why was that?
If you can't take some negativity you really need to find a new job. Fans come policed? I believe that does happen on here but thankfully unless someone is outright offensive we have a freedom of expression here and the forum is all the better for it. I've no problem with someone disagreeing with me and arguing against me, after all isn't that all part of the experience? I suggest you do John give a monkeys else you wouldn't mention it! Your rant suggests you are losing the plot. We sit behind computers because that's what the forum is, it's not some sort of upload your video message website so what do you expect? What the fvck is a didilo? If that's some sort of insult aimed at the fans that pay your wages you really are losing it. We are all real supporters and we all pay our way if you don't like the heat get outta the kitchen. That interview is the worst I can recall by a Crawley manager ever.
I've said before and I'll say it again. I prefer it when a manager gives an interview he shows some passion and shows he cares. It is much more enlightening than the clichéd responses and edited highlights you get most of the time. Although I do think John is becoming his own cliché at times.
There is a problem with it though. Hearing the manager of the club you support rail against a wrong (perceived or actual) does wind up a lot of fans and while I will say calling some supporters "dildos" is not the smartest thing to do I prefer him overstepping the mark occasionally rather than never coming to the mark at all.
I have issues with the team and tactics. There are players who I feel should be playing and vice versa. My opinion, which is formed without access to the knowledge of what goes on on the training ground or physios room, is my opinion. So while I shake my head sometimes I do try to remember that I am not in possession of all the information and curb my rants accordingly.

I don't know you but I have been on the same lengthy journey following this outfit through thick and thin
I am definitely giving him a backlash. How dare he question my status as a real fan?
He is a clumsy, inarticulate and insulting individual. Odious in fact
His heart might well be in the right place but he is unable to grasp the responsibility of his position.
I will follow CTFC to my grave, but not blindly all that they employ.

Yemsy did a very good job until the January Transfer Window. We all know that! Since then the Owners & Yemsy have shafted the REAL FANS with Bad Dealings & Bad Team Choices & No Ambition. END OF STORY.
Yems doesn't do himself any favours with his style/approach in interviews. Of course fans are not privy to training ground info, all injuries, personal reasons etc that the manager may well take into account in team selections and formations etc., but we are all football fans but try and find one without a view, an opinion is like trying to find a Crawley Town FC scarf in the North Pole. Its what we do. Im sure the vast majority wish John well, why wouldn't we after all he is stearing our good ship the real red devils.
It's great he shows passion for the club and his appointment was understandably popular, but if he continues the way he has that popularity will no doubt take a hit with some fans, equally passionate and were there long before he arrived and will be long after too. John Yems Red Army. COYR

Enough of this 'mines bigger than yours' - Yems has every right to push back on the negativity some 'fans' are showing and to be 5 points off playoffs with the squad we have got is a miracle!

an opinion you are entitled too but one which helps the team not one iota - perhaps your expectations are just too high?

Good solid post but again he is a man doing a difficult job - our only goal scorer of merit was sold from under him so lets give the man the credit he deserves rather than criticise him for taking us higher than we might expect to be

This rant over.

Jim manages to match my opinion on this - Yems isn't a natural interviewee and obviously finds it difficult but he is honest and thats refreshing

Keep worshipping at his altar, for if you don't he shall cast you aside
He needs to understand his position as the preeminent representative of his employer. His rants would constitute misconduct in almost any normal job
It is quite some squad he has accumulated too
Loving the inverted commas around the word fans that you have employed.
He is a dinosaur and an embarrassing joke - albeit unfunny- in my personal view

Although you may not like the message and most of what you say is very valid - why cant a manager say what he thinks. He's telling us that he is struggling with the negativity some of us are showing despite in my opinion his exceeding what we could have expected at the beginning of the year with an untried squad and then as soon as one or two flourish they are sold. Despite that he is still expected to deliver above expectations and guess what - he is human and can only do so much. I would much prefer Yems with his at times ineloquent responses that are at least honest and from the heart rather than some corporate speak that says nothing. I dread the thought of another manager coming along and trying to build a shoestring squad.
Always found it a very stifling kind of political correctness that a manager can’t answer criticism. Free speech for everyone I say. If you want to take a pop at the manager, he’s entitled to say it’s negative. Guess what? No one dies in either case, better we spend our time discussing something more interesting like how we can get our form revving again
