Enough of this 'mines bigger than yours' - Yems has every right to push back on the negativity some 'fans' are showing and to be 5 points off playoffs with the squad we have got is a miracle!
Keep worshipping at his altar, for if you don't he shall cast you aside
He needs to understand his position as the preeminent representative of his employer. His rants would constitute misconduct in almost any normal job
It is quite some squad he has accumulated too
Loving the inverted commas around the word fans that you have employed.
He is a dinosaur and an embarrassing joke - albeit unfunny- in my personal view
and so we move on to another manager who will fail again and we wonder why

[/quote]Good solid post but again he is a man doing a difficult job - our only goal scorer of merit was sold from under him so lets give the man the credit he deserves rather than criticise him for taking us higher than we might expect to be

Watters sold from under him?
Did Yems not understand the business model of this Club when he signed up?
He actually did one aspect of his job very well when he helped to showcase and nurture a major talent and translate this into £££
I finally got around to watching that interview. There seems to be some question mark over whether he referred to a few posters on here as diddle-os or dildos. I heard it as diddle-os. It's a slang term I haven't heard used for many years and took it to be a mild word for someone who is slightly idiotic. It appears that an urban dictionary defines it as follows (from www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=diddle-o :
an old London expression for someone either a bit simple or downright psychotic.
often found lurking in re-runs of "The Sweeney" or "Minder" "Why is that bloke walking round in circles?"
"Dunno, I reckon he's a bit diddle-o"
I accept that slang, like language, evolves, so John Yems' understanding of the word may differ from that of the urban dictionary.
I'm not so sure that reading a supporters' forum is a good idea for any team manager as it's better to keep focussed on team matters rather than the thoughts of a tiny subset of supporters - whether they are positive or negative. Having said that, sometimes the interviews are more entertaining than the games (shoot me, John! ) (just pulling ya leg).
He seems to be annoyed with the reports of games that are published in the Observer by Geoff Thornton.
He said the reports in papers don’t watch the games. Surely the reporters must at least be watching the games?!
I can confirm that Geoff Thornton is (was) as Season Ticket Holder and sat near me, indeed he is a good mate of the chap who sat next to me so always came up for a chat, so I know he attended many away games.
I can also say that Geoff is not on Social Media, so JY / whoever can say what they like about his reports .....
I recently had a dream that I was in the Crawley team. 64 years old and overweight. Can I go in goal to save my legs?
Strangely enough I had the goggle on in the background with some match on a couple of days ago, and the commentators to fill in time were doing the "today's useless fact" type thing and it was "what age was the oldest registered professional footballer ?"
Apparently it was in the Egyptian league, not so long ago I gather, and he was 74. So there is hope ......
Are the media not allowed at games at our level then?
They have only just been allowed to attend the away games. Hence the normal commentator, Gary, has only just started to do them. They have been allowed at home games.
Of course, the reporter and paper may have decided it was safer and more responsible during this pandemic to watch the game on the streaming service. Pure supposition on my part as I don't know if that is what has been happening but if it is then its a perfectly valid way of going about his business.

No Gary was referring to the BBC regions not being allowed to send reporters to away matches, which basically meant he couldn’t use a BBC pool car. Harry was still going to go ifollow instead, but was travelling with the club, which was allowed.
JB; I take your word for it but what's the difference between the beeb refusing to send a reporter (no car, no travel) and the Observer refusing to send a reporter?
Not that it matters as Mr Thornton, I believe, gives a " Fans View" and, as such, is not an accredited reporter so would not be allowed to go anyway.
Just to make it clear. I do not know Geoff Thornton, I'm not sure what his views on the team are but if he is giving those views without being abusive I cannot see the problem.
