With the Season Almost Finished I think as a Fellow Scout, I & Other Fans can give our Appraisals to Yemsy of the Crawley Town Players 2020/21, so that it can help him with Future Player Contracts Closed Season! Some of the Younger Players may improve as they get Older and go onto Higher Levels than Below, but these are Generally the Levels that the Players are at when Fit!

McNerney - League Two.
Khaleel - League Two/National League

Davies - only 15 starts this season. Tsaroulla - only 11 starts this season. Watters - only 12 starts this season. Hesketh - only 11 starts this season. Nicholls - only 13 starts this season as No 10 behind the striker.
It does want to make you cry looking at them low starts above. WHAT IF INDEED.

buy watters & hesketh for £500k each closed season. but 2 more midfielders for £100k each. Keep 3 to 15 on the list above. Sell the rest for £1.2m total. Net £0 spend closed season, and we will finish top of the league next season. quite easy really.

oh, we will need a another goalie on loan and another striker on loan also. buy hey ho, we will win the league with that new squad and net spend £0 and we cut the wage bill so the owners are happy. every ones a winner.

I am sure Yems will try and get Hesketh on Loan again for next season and so he should, and I am sure Watters is gone for good, but if Crawley are to challenge for Promotion next season they need to keep Players 3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 on the list above. Losing 1 of those 8 players might not be too bad, but losing 2 or more - forget challenging next season!
I’m fairly certain that Hesketh is available on a free transfer this Summer. Seems unlikely that Southampton will offer him another deal (they seem to have had high expectations for him at one time but his career hasn’t developed in the way they thought).
He’s clearly got some ability and looked very good in a few games, but also went missing in other appearances.
My biggest concern is his injury record- might just be bad luck on his part but we’d need to make sure there’s no underline issues before we made him an offer.
Hesketh without injury problems would be signing for a league 1 club (maybe championship). The thing is. Can we afford to have a player who is only available for a 1/4 of the matches every season?
As to what level a player can achieve. I will admit to being left dumbfounded on occasion by how high and low players go. For instance Sonny Bradley. When he was playing for us in league 2 I would have laughed if you told me he was of championship standard. He obviously is as he has been playing there for Luton. Or another example, Lee Blackburn. Played for us in the Conference and I thought he would go on and play league 1 standard but after leaving us he went to King's Lynn (?) and has not got higher than conference south.
Spend the budget on some more energetic midfielders and get a good striker in and we’re set. Granted those who contracts are due to end get the extension
