Shame to see Sesay go. My question is what’s happened to Tilley and Josh Wright? Were they on longer contracts? I thought they were both bought in til the end of the season

Sad to see Sesay and McNerney leaving us. Sesay is a decent player, 100% committed and a good attacking threat down the wing. Big Joe is a quality CB and better than Tony Craig IMO. Wish them the best.
Allarakhia is obviously a bit too lively a midfielder to have been kept on. Too much energy and movement for Yems
Not a great surprise really. Sorry to see Big Joe going, as he has been at the club for some time, however the defence needs strengthening. Plus it frees up budget for new signings.
Really the only surprise is that German has been retained. Not sure whether he has had an injury but he doesn't seem to have got near the team for months. On the other hand he is still young and perhaps the club think he will kick on. Or perhaps they just think we can get a small fee.
So just to clarify does option taken up mean they’ve taken up the year option on their contract or they’ve been offered a new one? I ask because I thought Powell’s contract simply ran out.
They have taken up the years option - must assume that Powell had an option on his as well - need to agree new contracts if we want to keep them longer than next season

Big Joe is unlucky to be released given he has been a useful squad player for the last 5 years stepping in when required. Thought he would’ve been offered a new contract after playing so much in the last 3-4 months of the season. On the other hand, he is the wrong side of 30 now and has had a lot of injuries during his time with us so I can understand the decision.
The rest of released are unsurprisingly, Sesay and Tarryn maybe a bit unlucky to be released, but understandable given how little football they’ve played last season.
Assume this means all of the unmentioned players are staying as well.
Good news Nichols and Tunnicliffe are staying. Hopefully both can see out the season and continue their good form into next season.
I imagine Bulman will retire given his age and how little football he’s played, but I wouldn’t be surprised either if he was given a player coach contract and was used as cover when needed.
Surprised McNerney has been allowed to leave. Someone will be get a decent centre back there.
As per a couple of other posters I'm open mouthed we've othered a new contract to Ricardo German. If he has not been able to get anywhere near the team when we only had one forward how is he going to be of use when we have three or four available?
