Anyone who has read Steve Leake's book Noli Cedere, published earlier this year, will know what an interesting and informative read it is. Steve is putting together a follow up, Noli Semper Cedere, for publication later this year and coinciding with the club's 125th anniversary. To help with the initial publishing costs, Steve has set up a crowd funding page. Contributions for this range over four levels from £10 to £25 (or more!) and the football club has generously donated a package of rewards for each level. Further details can be found here:
Thanks Alan for doing that. Old age and Parkinson's prevented me from doing it this morning. Royalties from the sales of books after the Kickstarter campaign, will be shared between the CTFCCF and Parkinson's UK. When we shot the video Ben was mowing the pitch for Brighton women, just two days before it was dug up. When I first saw the video I thought "who is that doddery old fool? and if you're wondering why i was wearing Max Wall's trousers, i had just played Walking Football. Seriously, that is how I am now on bad Parkinson's days so perhaps it was the best day to make the video. Thanks to Charlotte in the Foundation for putting up with me and I hope as many Reds fans as possible get behind this venture. The book starts with a look at Crawley FC pre 1956, starting in the year we were formed 1896. The second part deals with the year of Covid and how one fan's family dealt with supporting their club alongside local, national and international events which affected us all. The third part consists of about fifteen personal accounts of people's involvement with Crawley Town, including fans, players, and directors or their spouses. Can't wait to get to the PPS again to watch the lads and chat to you lot about the team we love.
