How do you see this one panning out? I'm thinking a narrow England win or a draw. An England win wouldn't necessarily put Scotland out, but they'd need a convincing win against Croatia to achieve that - a win that would be surprising. I'm going for England - 2-1. I would like to see both British teams go through but that may not be possibly with Scotland losing to the Czechs - the team they might be regarded as the most likely to beat. What I like about this format is that even a team that loses its first two matches can still qualify with some luck, so long as they don't lose by big scores.
I think there will be a flood at Kings Cross. Plenty of Jocks in tears leaving the City as the 3 Lions rip into a weak team going out of the tournament. Nothing to fear - just a question of how many goals England win by. Flag is up and the beers are in the fridge. The boys just need to do the rest. Sorted.
I enjoy seeing Scotland lose as much as the next man and Colin Hendrie's arse hitting the deck as Gazza prepared to volley, still makes my heart beat faster...
....but the news channels really need to change the narrative. They take lazy journalism to a new paradigm when they just cannot resist showing those tired images of a few strapping jocks, joyously getting splinters up their kilts from the Wembley crossbar...
...without mentioning that the rest of the football world love hosting the tartan hordes - along with their fellow Celts - as their favourite guests...
...in total contrast to universal attitudes to England fans - who strangely must have rushed to find the exits on that day.

If it was anything like other England Scotland games from that era, there probably weren't that many England fans in the first place! Several years earlier I went to the first Wembley game where they tried to ban Scottish fans from getting tickets, much to the amusement of the 90,000 or so Scots in the stadium. It was a lonely place to be an England fan that day, made worse by the fact that we lost.
I am am by no means confident about this game. Whether it be football, rugby or any other sport, there is nothing the other home countries like more than beating us, especially if the build up has been full of comments in the media about how many we are going to win by. Form goes out of the window for these matches. It was only a week or two back that Paul Scholes arrogantly claimed that Villareal weren't the sort of calibre team to be in a European final against the mighty Man Utd and we all know what happened there.
I would just love to smash the Scots convincingly. However, Stones and Pickford have a natural ability to make a mistake or two that could lead to an England downfall.
If England had played any slower we could call them British Rail. Oh, I'm going to call Declan Rice "Butch" from now on. He reminds me so much of Ray Wilkins.
Best player and attacking player Foden sub'd. Kane a complete flop. Almost made Scotland look good. Was that Kane itv interview in the middle of the stand full of 1000s of Scots?

Call him what you like, Jim. He never gives the ball away unlike the other Duds.

That was a load of England players booing him i think. England were useless we need loads of changes for the next match but spineless Southgate will play hi favourite Harry Kane if he was walking with a crutch. Clueless.
I thought it was a very watchable game in spite of no goals. England will almost certainly qualify as the very worst they can do is third place with four points, and Scotland still have a chance of doing the same, though beating Croatia will be tough one. I thought it was a pretty even game that swung one way then the other and could have gone either way.
The three discussion points on BBC Radio 5 606 post-match seemed to centre on 1. Can you celebrate a draw (i.e. Scotland did), 2. under-performing England and tactics etc, 3. Kane.
Personally I feel Kane cannot start Tuesday; it would send the wrong message out to the squad and country. Yes very capable player and that cannot be disputed BUT these last 2 matches he hasn't been good enough for the squad never mind the starting line up!
