All depends on if Southgate tries an attacking approach or goes too cautious with 5 at the back and 2 holding midfielders.
If Grealish and Sancho are in the starting 11 then I think we might have a chance. If we have the Stones/Mings CB partnership it will improve our chances. Maguire is not good enough. And Southgate needs to play people in their correct positions. Kane can stay on the bench. We can bring him on when it inevitably goes to penalties. He might actually make an impact then.
So far the other countries (except Wales that were awful) at this stage have all looked good. I'm expecting a very tough match. We must go out and attack we haven't scored many goals compared to the Germans.

Well in spite of the team being everything you didn’t want it to be, we still won!!😀
We may have won but we ddnthave it all our own way against a poor German team.
I will admit I didn't like the look of or team before the game and despite the win I don't think Southgate's plan worked as well as he hoped (3 {?} times the Germans got through on goal, 2 fouls and Muller deciding to finish like an Englishman) but the thing I wish the most is that we would stop trying to play keep ball across the defence. I just don't think they are good enough for it.

We won! Onwards to next game.

We came up against an inconsistent German team in a transitional phase with a new manager coming in after this tournament. We played them at the right time, but they showed against Portugal what they can do when they turn up. The team played well and got the win we should’ve got, but tougher tests will follow. I feel it was psychologically important for the team and the fans to beat a big team at a major tournament and to right some wrongs against Germany. Hopefully the fans, the media and the players don’t get too carried away and we can finally move forward and be serious contenders for once. I just hope the hype doesn’t ruin things like it always seems to do.
The last two England matches have shown a more flexible, positive & inventive midfield display...
...and it owes so much to one man... credit where it is due, particularly to an international midfielder who played a key role... take a bow...
Billy Gilmour...!
Last night's result says otherwise I would suggest
Really... you believe that last nights's result suggests that England's midfield was NOT improved in the subsequent two matches from the first two...? Hey-ho...!
