Covid passports to enter night clubs. We like a song and a dance at football, will football stadiums follow?

I really hope not, we struggle for attendance as it is...

That seems to rule us out then.
For anyone concerned, I have already got one of these "passports". I don't use a smart phone so applied for a paper version which arrived about four or five days after applying online. It's quite detailed and gave the dates of my two jabs and even the vaccine batch numbers.
If anyone hasn't yet started the vaccination process, there is meant to be an eight-week gap (minimum) between jabs, so start soon for late September. I expect the use of passes to become commonplace for events - at least for another year.

Depends what is considered large, is somewhat subjective. I would've thought it's more about the way people are sardined in together as much as numbers - anyway thanks for posting the NHS link I'm sure some members may find that useful. The changes and u-turns the government makes anything is possible but so far it looks like all football hasn't fallen into the "large" category.
According to the MailOnline, it’s capacities above 16,000. We’re fine. I don’t like this vaxpass nonsense but I’ll steer away from the politics.
It's hard to avoid the politics but what's magical about 16,000? My other thought is that should not have an adverse effect on non-league attendances as I imagine non-league clubs have really suffered in the pandemic.
"For unseated events, such as gigs, the threshold could be as low as 5,000 attendees" - this could mean that if you have say 2,000 seats and 3,000 standing that it still counts as apply the vaccine rule because the overall seating is less than 5,000 - will hat apply to football grounds? Non-league?
This could do several things: if it filters down to lower attendances or all EFL clubs, will some fans demand refunds and where do they stand on this? If some football fans object to the passport principle or won't get the vaccine could this increase out =r attendance assuming we are not required to comply too? It could also mean that clubs like Crawley decide t make it their policy of entry and some fans (on both sides of the debate) may like the club to comment here.
OUTRAGEOUS! from October apparently and yes some fans will be angry and demand refunds but it was inevitable. 20,000 for open sports stadiums and 5.000 for music venues, makes sense, er, not!
What's the big deal if you are over 18 get your jabs and apply for a covid passport most people have a passport so what's the difference. The argument that its like an identity card does not hold water because if you have a mobile phone your movements can be tracked. If it means by having a covid passport which does not cost anything means i can watch football then so be it.

Who do you think you are telling me to get a vaccine passport? fvck that! You can obtain a mobile phone without an address or provide a false one without any hassle at all.

All i am saying is if you want to go and watch football its not much of a problem to get one because all it states is your name the dates of your two jabs and the batch numbers. it could be that in the future you will need it for entry to other venues, as it is you need on to go on holiday to a green country so its starting to have its uses and requirements. The last time i bought a mobile phone i did have to provide proof of address.
I’ve changed my mind a lot about this but the infection rates from those going to Wembley seemed crazy silly. I know a few people who went and they all got it either in the semi or final. Would reluctantly accept this for a year, EFL to provide the usual stream for season ticket holders with conscientious objections

I didn't. It was two years ago and paid about £25 for a basic phone (that's all I need) from a shop. If an address were needed, it would further isolate any homeless people from society. I use the phone on a PAYG basis i.e. top up vouchers. A couple of people have recently referred to my phone as a drug dealer phone. I was puzzled at first until I figured out that they were referring to not needing to register it.

A friend of mine knows someone who went to the final. He picked up covid and got thumped by some England supporters.
