I think some of the fringe players and some of the youngsters will be going. Priority is to keep Lynch until the end of the season and get a decent backup keeper. Can't see that we will be able sign anyone else due to the much talked about lack of finances.
If we're able to get a few players who aren't anywhere near the matchday squad off the wage bill hopefully that'll allow us to bring in someone decent though

Agree Lynch is priority but I think we could gamble on the keeper front as I believe you can bring in an emergency keeper at short notice.

Yes that was what happened when Stuart Nelson signed last year, as we had Tom McGill as the backup keeper then but Morris got injured. McGill would later get injured at Torquay (which caused that game to be stopped for over 20 mins) so it was indeed very handy signing Nelson at the time
You can also sign free agents outside of the transfer window too providing that they left their previous club before the most recent window closed and they haven't already played for 2 clubs in the season. Goalkeepers are different though as not having one available is like playing chess without the king

But whoever is just released will have their contract paid up? Dunno how it works if someone signed onto a team that paid less than he did whist here. But some shortfall would be made up. So in reality I dunno if any of the budget gets freed up
I was thinking more as in trying to find another club that would sign them either permanently or on a loan deal that involves them paying the majority of the players' wages. That would definitely be more financially viable than mutually terminating contracts
For me getting Lynch and Fancillette on a longer contracts should be a priority, the more I see of them the better they look especially Francillette who has it all physicality, two footed, pace and only in his early twenties surely our next big sale.
Having a half-decent keeper around is critical. Remember, we might have stayed in league 1 a bit longer had we not been flippant about that once before (an extra 2 points against MK Dons in THAT game would have kept us up).

I thought we lost League 1 status at Peterborough until Dean Saunders substituted Izale MacLeod when leading 3-2.

We actually lost it on the final day at home to Coventry, but it's possible to point to any blunder that cost us points. Not having a goalkeeper in reserve is one of the more glaring errors that had an element of predictability to it.

James Maddison scoring the winner in front of the Bruce Winfield stand always sticks in my mind whenever I see him score.
