I saw that earlier, not 100% sure about him at the moment but we will see if he can do anything and be different to our current options up front. Looking at his appearances I noticed two of them came this month so maybe he was injured for a while. Has also played for Man United's first team once (which was vs Astana in the Europa League in 2019).
I can't imagine that we would be contributing much, if at all, to his wages either
Let’s not rubbish him before he’s even come in. With Salford’s money bags approach, it’ll be very hard to get in their team.
It’s the tradition on here. Max Watters was written off as another journeyman striker by some. 🙂
When I went to Chichester vs Maidstone back in September I was talking to a Maidstone fan who was saying Watters didn't look great at all when he was on trial there and was very surprised at how well he did when he signed for us. Funny that someone who fans of a Conference South team didn't think was good enough went on to be sold for a million quid just a few months later
In the interview for the Bradford game Yems stated we definitely had one coming in and hopefully more.
Re Mellor. Not sure why Man Utd would send a young Mancurian down here for a loan (Matty Willock was a southern lad and moving back towards his family) and I'm sure Scunthorpe, Oldham and a few other clubs would be closer to home and need a forward.
Mellor, or someone else on loan or a permanent deal, we can only hope they fit in with the squad and add something to the team.
