I thought I'd share a series I've written for the Isthmian League website this week, featuring people who have given up the Premier League for non league. I thought it would resonate with some of you!
Even though I love the fact that people are giving up on Prem league and going to the lower leagues.
I have no time for Dulwich Hamlet. The club is run by and full of left-wing people who use it as a political tool.
Disgusting.......ALL politics should be kept away from football.
ideally yes in reality politics is everywhere and impossible to avoid. For me premier league is an eliteist football for the rich and ordinary man no longer fits in. When seated you miss half match as people alwsys arrive late leave early. Never know what time day or day fixtures are on. Fans are treated badly.
I remember going to Canvey Island 10+ years ago when we were in the conference. I must have been about 11 or 12 at the time. From what I can remember the ground and the whole area around Canvey Island was very run down. Like others have said it was extremely windy and cold! I seem to remember at one point the goal kicks would reach the halfway line and then go so far backwards the attacking teams defenders would end up heading it clear! It was the stuff of folklore.

I went to see my home town (Burgess Hill) play away at Dulwich about this time last year. Before arriving I was already aware that Dulwich had become some sort of hipster club followed by the reasonably well of middle classes and young people that lived in the area. Still I was surprised at the atmosphere around the ground, the crowd didn't look like normal football fans and for all the people there it was quite quiet. The stadium ended up quite packed with people arriving later and later, so packed that people were sitting on the stairs in the main stand. It was quite a strange experience.

The title of this thread may fit for some clubs BUT if Crawley go down i can only see the club nose diving and would struggle at conference south BUT more likely do a Halifax go bust maybe reform AND you can say goodbye to league football ever again in this greatest town of all great towns.
