Bumped into Lee who was still recovering from the price of cheesy chips & reiterated my point - in Kaby & Cox thread - about set-pieces. I said we never score from them and he said teams rarely score from corners anymore. So typically we score a header from a free kick and hit the post another and concede two dollies from opposition corners. It was more Hari Kari than Harry Kewell and im not sure why he is getting so much stick and the normally brilliant Glen Morris has not even been mentioned?
I thought about what i said to you regarding goals from corners Thad.I still maintain though that goals from corners are rare, but only if the defence mark players properly and the keeper is over 6 foot and commands the box.Unfortunatly for us we have neither. As for the £4 cheesy chips that deserves its own thread.
I think the stats support you Lee, but not the first time that team have made monkeys out of the pair of us. You are allowed to concede one goal like that in a testimonial, but two identical softies in a matter of minutes is just unforgiveable at any level.
We always look stifled and crowded out at home. Teams suffocate us and we resort to hoofing and attempting wonder passes.
Conversely, on Saturday at Barnet we found space all over the pitch and could've racked up a cricket score.
No idea if Barnet's pitch is bigger or whether it's the way teams setup differently home and away, but all home games follow a similar pattern and it's claustrophobic to watch never mind to play in.
But there were many occasions last night when Morris could have rolled it out, or a defender could have passed it to a midfielder to build play but it almost looked as though they had be told to play it direct and not attempt to pass and build the play?!!

When they try and play it out from the back, everyone on here goes berserk and says "we're not good enough to do this!" So when they go direct, guess what..........people still moan. CTFC fans in a nutshell.
I noticed that our owner was there last night, along with a bunch of cronies. This left me wondering if HK played Taj for his benefit, because I can think of no other reason why such an incompetent player would play in place of Bulman or even Cox. Taj would struggle at conference south level. It was amusing that upon his substitution he applauded the fans that were actually cheering the fact that he was no longer going to participate.
Our marking at corners was dreadful, both goals were uncontested headers from corners. Why can't McInierny get a start? He was our best central defender last season.
Another thing that was evident last night was the amount of our players that seem to slip over at crucial times, the Connolly one was a classic. Is this is a footwear issue and is it down to players wearing blades rather than studs?
Our set piece defending is getting worse. And who said politics has nothing to do with football....maybe Tadj bought the boss his favourite flowers or something. If the owners were present they may give up the pipe dream as they surely cant have seen any hope out there. The clubs mere existence could be at state if they cash in and run (or have they already?). Maybe Tadz genuinely thought fans were applauding his performance (very worrying), he had cold hands and wanted to warm them up or was clapping in a p1ss take way

£1.50 extra for a sprinkling of cheese over chips is a rip off. Catering is overpriced untasty and unviting. As for Morris performance it wasnt his best for sure, average at best but he has got us outta jail far more than not im prepared accept the occasional average display. I do think he was at fault not coming for the cross when Newtport headed in. What hurts most from the game is HK and the players seemed to have no idea about the hated and disgust Reds fans have for those Welsh animals. Hopefully none were in the home sections last night.

You of course never criticise of moan about anything do you...?

No, never. Expect your posts, they are always ass-licking rubbish. Don't you have to suggest something for me to read now to enlighten me, as you did with Simon?

Stephen will be along soon to remind us what a great job HK is doing at Crawley. Perhaps another fan engagement/coffee morning round the corner?
I see HK is now criticising Newport as route 1 when the team playing route 1 the last two home games has been us. He also is going down the dangerous path of criticising home fans for disrespectful reaction to Tajbaksh. While I agree the personal criticism does nothing to make a player any better I do worry that he cannot think that reaction is likely if you leave a player of Bulman's quality on the bench all evening when we are playing some of the worst league football we have played, in front of our lowest ever league gate. Bulman a player who can do those things Harry says Tajbaksh can do (tackle, pass simple balls) but also have some authority in the midfield to get players to stop just lumping the ball and demand the ball from the defence/keeper. Tajbaksh looks to be an honest non league player who didnt look out of place in our Sussex Senior Cup games away last season but who we all expected would be move on in the summer. Just as disrespectful also is the way the fans are kept in the dark about why players are not even considered for matches, how injuries and treatment are going (Verheydt etc). Be a bit more honest and open and respectful of the fans and they might feel a bit more "included" and cut him and his team some slack. Having said all that if we come up with the same crap as we played on Tuesday again I dont think it would matter what he said!!
Was Kewell told to play Taj to keep our Turkish owner (who was in attendance) happy?

I’m adamant he’s mates with Selim. He’s looking after his mate and it’s going to get us in trouble. You’ll rarely see a good player slide tackle. He only ever slide tackles because his positioning is poor or he’s making up for a mistake. These sliding tackles I talk of, he rarely gets the ball. I’ve seen some dreadful players at Crawley over the years, however he may well just be up there as the worst
