Agree with the above, what the hell was that all about?? Ok, we know it's Harry's first day in the job, but are we to assume it was the press guys first day too??
He hadn't thought about what to ask, he made it up as he went along, the questions he asked were shit and pointless and he made himself look a tit. Harry was clearly thinking the same. What an embarrassment.
My sons year three class would have acted more professionally if in that reporters role, I'm sure of that.
I guess he must have been the COBS journo then 😆
Exactly.Mr Carter. If I were as inept as he in my 9-5, I would have joined the queue of scroungers years a go. Just how has this bloke stolen a living in his line of work for so long???
As a side, I really would like to reiterate how poor this whole saga was. It was like a staged play, but everyone forgot their llines. HK did himself no favours and it's gonna take me even more persuasion to believe he is right for us. I wasn't convinced before, I'm almost certain now. God help us.
Just watched the first press conference....Hope the second has more energy. If not we are in big trouble as he appears even quieter than DD...
You are so correct that the most important ingredient lacking was energy... glad you managed to stay awake during it... however, for what it is worth, I can guarantee you that Feeney has a voice that will shake the West Stand to its foundations, this must be the first time ever he has been accused of being quiet.
I believe the entire episode was poorly thought through with the staged scenario far too inhibiting, having an absence of a live crowd meant it was flat and there was no reaction to anything and we got no real sense of personality or motivation. That's why I am suggesting a live event where people get to meet them, it will undo the damage and restore the credibility of all that were complicit in this unmitigated debacle.
What I could hear was so uninspiring I cannot see that motivating any waverer to go ahead and buy a season ticket (I hope I am wrong though) and did they bring the PA system over from the East Stand as could only hear odd words or occasionally almost a whole sentence before it all faded away again? Probably not helped by HK seemingly suffering from jet lag, Selim speaking in such a mumble and Warren Feeney looking like he was just there to stop the table cloth blowing away. Hopefully not many watched it and we may be able to get a few decent signings and HK more up to speed (when he gets back from his world travels) over the coming weeks to inspire us a bit more and sell some tickets because that hasnt moved things forward at all!

He looked and sounded like he didn't really want to be there, very worrying indeed. I always give any new manager or player the benefit of the doubt, hope i am proved wrong but i don't have a good feeling about this.

Perhaps, with his limited footballing experience, he just wasn't ready for the level of professionalism on display .......
I recently spoke to someone who Harry worked with at Watford and his words were, you don't know what you have let yourself in for, good player he was, good coach he is not, manager he definitely is not, when I listened to the press conference I needed to hide behind my cushio, it was embarrassing, and to be quite honest warren could not really add anything to the Conversation, what would he say I know how to get you to the bottom of the league.and as for players the ones that I signed got me the sack.this is going be to be a long hard season.
"First impressions are very big for me and I’m more than happy to work with what we have here. I see a lot of energy and a lot of enthusiasm and I hear a lot of good things too."
I have paid for my season ticket. We have to give the new management team a chance. I am sure that they will bring more enthusiasm on the touch line at least.

He's our Manager, of course I want him to succeed... but THAT IS the break... he blew it and then is hoist by his own petard... I'm not a fan of press conferences but he knew what was expected, no excuses, if he believes that "First impressions are very big for me" and that he values "a lot of energy and a lot of enthusiasm" then he should have been fully prepared to generate those precise qualities as a matter of professional respect for Crawley Town fans... instead he undeniably produced the opposite...!
