On the recent update fro Preston, he suggested that they may have a core team of supporters who could provide input - you should be part of that - as much as I think you aren't helping anything at the moment being so negative your input with the board would be a good counter balance and perhaps you'll come round
If you roll back to when JY was suspended, I sent a public but personal message to Preston via a forum user who was also on discord. I politely explained precisely why I felt the wording was "clumsy" and prejudicial. And I offered to meet him - he was due over at the weekend - and discuss the matter face to face. He issued a reply about the words, he - and the PR company that they had used - stood by them. He did not respond to my offer to meet up.
Understand your frustration but was that a yes to joining if offered the chance?
So, my choices are be "more helpful" or shove off... who are you, kim jong un...?
I have judged Preston Johnson on his actions - all of them - not just generating a buzz, cheaper entrance fees or cheap beer. I have also judged him & his media partners on the hypocrisy & contradictions in Press releases... why should they be "helpfully" ignored...?
Always welcome your input and the fact that the forum will provide opposing views - just feel that you aren't giving them a chance and we should at least do that
Via gentle parody, I highlighted their deviousness & hypocrisy, I do not find those qualities very endearing.
It matters... It starts with deviousness and leads on from there, we found that out under the Majeeds.
And as you weren't around then... I was called a lot worse than "negative", it ended in police cautions to the 2 guys who sent me death threats.

I made the first offer & await the courtesy of a response to it.
(Ceo enters VP’s office to sound of “Peter Pumpkinhead” by XTC plus wild canned applause) CEO Johnson Prestin: Frenz, looks we got an awesome problem man VP Eben Eezza: What problem Bro, the good news keeps on coming in WEASELAGMI world. (canned laughter)
JP: Well Man, it sucks, but we gotta clear up a few bits from that John Yums mess EE: Like what Dude, we have got all those idiots out there to move on and now we even got a few Bro’s of the right profile signed up, we can forget that loser Yums forever. (canned yelps from canned audience)
JP: Well, we are gonna have to somehow break it to those mugs that we have finished our investigation and not found anything…. EE: Oh right Dude I get it… we gotta do that without looking like total putz for our “serious & credible allegations" bit, that we used to set him up. so that we could replace him in the first place. JP: Yez siree, sounds like a job for our PR experts “Weasel, Wurdz & Shullbit LLC”. (fade out to “American Idiot” by Green Day, new scene in office of WW&S)
WW&S: “Okay guys, we have run it past a focus group and here is our vision: You just do what all slimy Politicians who you cannot trust, always do: First you distract them, get some signings & gossip about signings.... out on the same day Secondly, you then answer a question... but NOT a question that anyone has actually asked
EE: Like what question that hasn't actually been asked, Man...? WW&S: Like have you reported anything to the cops..? (canned loud applause)
JP: Awesome Dude, so we get to tell them nothing... about nothing… but make it seem like a really important headline story, EE: Hey, that is like Rad man, totally Sic. (extreme canned laughter & frenzied whoops & hollers)
WW&S: And then you just need to sneak out that your investigation is over, but bury it in a lot of affirmative type phrases that make you appear tough, upright and partnering with the good authority guys… but still makes that Schmuck Yums look dodgy (loud firework explosions and canned laughter) WW&S: And be sure to say that although he has gone, you will not hesitate to punish him further if it pleases the authorities. EE: Hang on Bro, the authorities heard the same stuff as us & if he is gone, how can we punish him further…? (canned groans)
JP: Don’t worry Guys, I’ve already figured out those mugs who follow Creepy Town… they won’t notice any of that small detail, we just need to keep giving them good news & free beer, those dudes will swallow anything. EE: Hooray for Peter Pumpkinhead (Roll credits, Canned hysteric laughter and fade out to “All the Small Things” by Blink 182)
Legal Notice: "Meet The Weasels" is a Just Tedious Production, based on an original concept by Chaz Majeed (2005) Any resemblance to real life characters is very unfortunate, as they are so awful.
As it has been requested that I be "more helpful", let me explain that - above - I deployed comedic parody, to highlight these actual points: - the Club investigation found no substance to the previously reported "serious & credible" allegations - however, the FA & PFA have not concluded their investigations - the Club Press release was designed to distract from the former & focus on the latter - but included other irrelevant information purely & intentionally for distraction - IMHO, the deliberate deception does not reflect positively on WAGMI UTD - for balance, they have reduced prices, created a buzz & provided free beer
I think thad raises some interesting questions. Particularly the 'serious and credible' comments right out the bat from WAGMI re Yems allegations and then quietly sweeping under the carpet that their own investigation found no substance to the allegations, so why were they quick to call them 'serious and credible' if they were yet to investigated, prejudicing...
Whilst I applaud greatly the moves WAGMI have done in reducing season ticket prices drastically, which goes against the grain of the vast majority of clubs in this country and there engagement with fans meeting them person before the last home game, buying beers for supporters, twitter spaces and interviews with the media discussing the behind the scenes activities and the goal of promotion in 2 seasons with a promise to have fans vote on them to stay on as chairmen if they don't achieve this. This is all good and positive, but their messy press releases about the Yems situation and general messy use of social media using their own WAGMI accounts more than the clubs own accounts and weird jokes, they won't shake off their Ted Lasso/ 2000s American comedy movie character personas.
It's still very early days for us under WAGMI. Let's see how pre season shapes up and what signing we get and if we ever get any closure on the Yems situation and then we will have a better idea in what direction this is heading with them.
I'm choosing to remain positive about WAGMI and the current seasons despite some concerns. I think whatever happens it will be a fun ride and will be much more interesting than the last 6 years under the last ownership who must be commended for providing a stable and steady ship for WAGMI to take over.

That’s precisely it, Alex. As I said at the time, anyone can come up with ‘serious and credible’ allegations about other people without there being a grain of truth in them. We know that JY is very old school and probably wouldn’t want to be dabbling in analytics when he has his contacts book and years of experience of coaching at various levels. The new owners may have done some good stuff - pressed the flesh, reduced prices, appointed an up and coming and potentially exciting management team etc. Through all of that, it is the way that JY was cast aside which leaves a nasty taste in the mouth. Doubtless most people want to move on and get on with the business of seeing what this season will bring. Unfortunately it will be very hard for JY to move on. Not only could this blight any future job prospects, it is also not impossible that some idiot with a perceived grudge will emerge from the woodwork at some point. I have seen comments on other discussion groups which say he was ‘sacked for being a racist’ and several idiots on the Brighton forum used a thread on us reducing our ticket prices to announce that we are ‘an institutionally racist club’. Even when the 57 old farts at the FA conclude their investigation (probably about 2030), the fallout from this will not go away for some, even if they find there is absolutely no case to answer.

I really don't like this toxic culture we currently have where certain hot button social issues carry out a witch hunt insofar as if you are accused of some wrong doing you are effectively guilty until you are proven innocent and the reputational damage never seems to go away even if there is no substance to any of the allegations.
I feel it doesn't mater if Yems is innocent and is found to be so or there is a lack of any credible evidence as his career is pretty much over and if he is innocent we have potentially lost a good manager who was well liked by the supporters.
We may never get any answers re Yems so we will always be left wondering...
their own investigation found no substance to the allegations
Where has that been reported?
I dont think that is quite what has been reported but its very easy to infer that from what has been.
A quote from the Sky Sports article...
The club also confirmed that they were no longer investigating the incidents themselves...
The club are no longer investigating and the report goes on to state that the club have not reported any incidents to the police. If any truly racist behaviour had been found the club would have a duty and a legal requirement to report it to the police.
Hence, the clubs investigation has found no substance to the allegations.
There are many ways you could actually interpret that report (no point doubling up on the FA/PFA investigation comes to mind) but saying " the club has found no substance to the allegations" is perfectly reasonable.
If any truly racist behaviour had been found the club would have a duty and a legal requirement to report it to the police
I don't think that follows, it would depend on the nature and seriousness of what has alleged to have taken place. Also, any inappropriate conduct by those in positions of authority over staff that leads to dismissal is not automatically a police matter, in fact it very rarely is.
Steve, I understand what you are saying but Yems was in a position of authority over young lads (under 18) and therefore the club should err on the side of child welfare and report any incidents (such have been alleged) to the police or they could be in real trouble themselves for not doing so.
Let's be honest. With the Daily Mail and Sky Sports breathing down their neck they would be stupid not to.

Has it involved Crawley under-18s? I'm just aware of the pitfalls of making assumptions on the basis of limited info or hearsay info. Sensible and measured to wait until we have the verified facts by a professional investigative body. I see people's frustrations in the time delay in that, but I'm not sure what the alternative is, except replacing trial by media (bad) with trial by hearsay (not much better).
For example, think of all the coverage that the racism scandals at Yorkshire and Essex cricket clubs has had and is actually getting now, as we speak. Plenty of resignations, plenty of fines, plenty of apologies but I'm not aware of any police involvement. The same thing when Mark Sampson made that regrettable comment about Eni Oluko's relations having ebola. Apologies yes, but did the police get involved? Many of these allegations don't rise to the level of actual lawbreaking. What they actually might rise to (or might not rise to) at Crawley I simply don't know - and short of knowing what's in the FA report, I struggle to see how anyone else unconnected to this affair can know?

Do you mean us the fans or the owners? Or maybe even the press, with the likes of the Mail coming up with their Crawley Town Racism Shame headline based on unsubstantiated allegations?

Lets give them a chance before we decide they aren't good for the club - I see your point/s but would not necessary agree that your summation is the correct one - but that life and one mans meat is another mans poison!. However I've no doubt we both have the clubs best interests at heart and will be cheering them very soon.
