I smell a whiff of hypocrisy and am asking myself whether I wish to put my attendance money into the club currently, in spite of the hush money of reduced prices.
their own investigation found no substance to the allegations
Where has that been reported?
PRECISELY... they could have been straight about it... instead they have left themselves wriggle room, with weasel words...! Quite a contrast to the more "direct" style of their "credible & substantial" original post & your less than forensic interpretation of it too, Steve.
Actually their own investigation - which followed closely after three months of due-diligence activities - had concluded when JY left by "mutual agreement" ...think about it... think about a "mutual agreement"... see, it must have...(?)
And while you think about that "mutual agreement"... also think about WHY they had to mention it publicly at all...(?) After all, there would no obligation to mention it... erm.... or was there...(?)
Y'know, this is what I really hated most about the Majeed regime, they start off by being devious themselves... - .and then they draw other people in - decent folk who just want the club to succeed - who begin by defending them... - then those same good people slowly start to spread propaganda, deception & lies themselves.... - then anyone who dares to point out the truth becomes highlighted as "the problem"... - then... well, lets see... but you won't like how it ends...!
Steve, I understand what you are saying but Yems was in a position of authority over young lads (under 18) and therefore the club should err on the side of child welfare and report any incidents (such have been alleged) to the police or they could be in real trouble themselves for not doing so.
Let's be honest. With the Daily Mail and Sky Sports breathing down their neck they would be stupid not to.

Has it involved Crawley under-18s? I'm just aware of the pitfalls of making assumptions on the basis of limited info or hearsay info. Sensible and measured to wait until we have the verified facts by a professional investigative body. I see people's frustrations in the time delay in that, but I'm not sure what the alternative is, except replacing trial by media (bad) with trial by hearsay (not much better).
For example, think of all the coverage that the racism scandals at Yorkshire and Essex cricket clubs has had and is actually getting now, as we speak. Plenty of resignations, plenty of fines, plenty of apologies but I'm not aware of any police involvement. The same thing when Mark Sampson made that regrettable comment about Eni Oluko's relations having ebola. Apologies yes, but did the police get involved? Many of these allegations don't rise to the level of actual lawbreaking. What they actually might rise to (or might not rise to) at Crawley I simply don't know - and short of knowing what's in the FA report, I struggle to see how anyone else unconnected to this affair can know?
Steve: I have not made any assumptions at all. I have just pointed out that from the answers the club gave to Sky Sports it would easy to conclude the club have not found any evidence of racist behaviour.
I even pointed out another scenario where that isn't the case but you didn't jump on that as making presumptions.
Just for you I will make it clear. I have no knowledge of the precise nature of the allegations against John Yems. I have no knowledge as to the outcome, or lack thereof, of the clubs investigation into those allegations. I have no more knowledge than anyone else who has read the newspaper and online articles about this matter.
I will say I am waiting for a report to be published by the FA and/or the PFA regarding the investigations so I can peruse the evidence and conclusions.
While I am waiting for that I will continue to listen to any evidence or gossip put into the public domain and decide on its relevance.
If any truly racist behaviour had been found the club would have a duty and a legal requirement to report it to the police
I don't think that follows, it would depend on the nature and seriousness of what has alleged to have taken place. Also, any inappropriate conduct by those in positions of authority over staff that leads to dismissal is not automatically a police matter, in fact it very rarely is.
The bench mark for a public order crime to have been committed is pretty low (I have knowledge of the threshold) And it's also for the POLICE to decide, not the club.
Of course they haven't got that credible evidence they spoke about. IN fact they have a pile of answers from players, coaches and former coaches that say nothing of the sort went on. How do I know. Because I've spoken to some of those who were asked.
I have spoken to JY a couple of times since this erupted. He admits like me that his old school but categorically denies the accusations. He has shown me txts of support from the players and from football people all over the country. When the FA finally finish the investigation I hope JY takes legal action against those that I believe have destroyed his career and reputation.
Meet the Weasels - Episode Two: "Wease gotta problem"
(Ceo enters VP’s office to sound of “Radiation Vibe” by Fountains of Wayne, plus uncontrollable frenzied canned applause) CEO Johnson Prestin: Frenz, looks like we got yet another awesome problem man VP Eben Eezza: What problem Bro, we’ve got them frothing in excitement about those HADISASS* tops with the NFT drop on the way, c’mon buddy, the good news keeps on coming, in WEASELAGMI world. (Spontaneous canned laughter)
JP: Well Man, it sucks, but I have been asked a question by the Daily Fail EE: Shut the punt down, I thought those amigos were on our side, they swallowed everything we have fed them wholesale so far and were great about our extensive analytic skills in strengthening our offensive line by signing a new goalattacker (loud yelps from audience)
JP: Hell yes, great work going to that gig in Madrid and workshopping every possibility, before deciding to throw a huge pile of bucks at last season’s league 2 top scorer. EE: Yeziree homeboy, and the media never even mentioned that in his previous five seasons, the schmuck had scored less than Lance Armstrong on a polygraph too. And when they mentioned Bryce Hall, we told them it is a great place for a Spring break party & we even stashed a grand behind the bar when we were there. (high fives all around & loud canned laughter)
JP: Well Man, it sucks, but we gotta clear up a few more tiny little bits from that John Yums mess. A few local fans are asking questions. EE: Why bother Dude, these slackers are not worth it. Even the fan dude guy on the board has spent time being banned and some of the others are just, well y’know like…. really unhelpful Man…! JP: True, why my man Login Matheuse gave me short odds that when we get to the Championship, there will still be forum stirrers, putting up avatars with unflattering caricatures of me. EE: Bogus dude, but in fairness it is not very easy to make a flattering caricature of you Bro (Sympathetic "aaahhh" from audience)
EE: Hey Man, maybe you really should try turning your cap around and let the peak shade your face from that hot English sun, you aren’t in Kansas anymore Toto, but those wasters will never be happy Man, what are they complaining about now…? (canned yelps from canned audience)
JP: Well Pal, it seems it is sorta about us not being trustworthy, remember the last episode, y’know we had to, well kinda discreetly break it to those suckers that we had finished our investigation and not found anything... EE: Too right Dude, we even got to do it without looking like total putz for that “serious & credible allegations" garbage, we had used to set him up. so that we could replace him in the first place JP: Well yeah, but… EE: Hey and didn’t we even feed them some horse droppings about not reporting anything to the cops, it was brilliant, foolproof, nothing could go wrong, sic as, Dudeski (extreme canned laughter & frenzied whoops & hollers)
JP: Yez siree, top work from our PR experts “Weasel, Wurdz & Shullbit LLC”, but listen Bro, we might need them again, like pronto… EE: Why’s that Brah, it was like Rad man, those chumps loved it JP: It was kinda awesome buddy, but I think the Dail Fail might be a bit pizzed that we gave that story to Sick Sports News (Audience groans, fade out to “Peter Pumpkinhead” by XTC, new scene in office of WW&S)
WW&S: “Okay guys, we have run it past a focus group and here is our vision: Once again, you just do what all slimy Politicians who you cannot trust, always do when they have been found out: Our brainstorm of a representative sample has revealed the optimum response when they ask you again…. First you guys cleverly distract them… again... and then you…. erm… well not sure how to say this but… …you decline to comment. (canned groans) JP: Close the fridge door, that won’t work, aren’t I going to look pretty damned embarrassed if they ask questions at the NFT drop? WW&S: That is what is so brilliant, our analysis has shown that it doesn’t matter how red your face gets, it will never show beneath your sunburn, in fact you will blend in with the flesh of our new cyborg mascot that the design team have produced. (wild canned applause)
JP: Yeehah, that is a slam dunk Man, if they do spot it, I can tell them that they are bullying, body shaming & in any case, you are not allowed to mention the color (can you believe that those guys spell it with a "U"?) of a person’s skin anymore. That should sort it for good. Hell yes. (canned loud frenzied applause)
EE: Hey, that is like Rad man, totally Sic, (All together) Hooray for Peter Pumpkinhead (Roll credits, Canned hysteric laughter and fade out to “Sorry Somehow” by Husker Du)
Legal Notice: "Meet The Weasels" is a Just Tedious Production, based on an original concept by Chaz Majeed (2005) Any resemblance to real life characters is very unfortunate, as they are so awful.

Steve, surely you must know all mainstream media news outlets in the UK are the height of impartially and accurate factual reporting and never lie intentionally!

I've always been wary of saying what I think happened at Crawley simply because I want to wait until the FA establishes the facts, or establishes them as best as anyone can.
But as it's a side issue to the main events, regarding the media coverage - I have a hunch that a lot of the national media reporting will be proven to have been hyped, sensationalised and quite possibly inaccurate
