All seems to have gone quiet with the Fan Council.
I asked a question on here on 10 August, Ashdown Red also asked something on the same day.
It would be good if the fan council gave out a statement about how we can contact them and what their method of communication is.
Hi. Yeh we have had a lot more questions than we expected (nearly 100!) so it will take a bit of time to get them answered unfortunately. On a post from the 29th July I did put that we have a Facebook and twitter account. There is also a link to a form for you to put your questions. Also come speak to us at a game if you see us The difficulty about this forum is that previous posts get hidden away such as links to docs and other social media What I will try and do for now on is, at the bottom of each Fan Council post, ensure the links are there
I wonder if George and Alex could be kind enough to give you a little "pinned at top" thread section on here where the questions and answers are listed, with the most recent at the top? Would help them drive a bit more traffic to this forum too I wouldn't wonder

Happy for that. I don't know how doable that is in this forum. Can they give permission for a read-only forum? I can then post it also on here for any discussion to be had.
ADMIN INFORMATION This thread is now pinned (this forum calls it sticky - more note to self). Read-only facility isnt really available and Im not entirely sure it should be anyway as surely users will want to interact in the way they do with other threads.
Why not publish the list of questions and the answers as they are answered that way it would stop the same question being asked and informing the supporters what the situation is.
Good idea. Would just need to find a place to put all of the questions that have been answered so far. Perhaps a Google doc?
Why don't you have it on the club official website so it is all in one place and not spread all over other platforms because not everyone are on other platforms.
1 Is it possible to get an update on when new kits and merchandise is expected to be on sale ?
2 Is it possible to get an update on when a decision is expected on a potential new license for selling alcohol outside Redz Bar at the stadium.
Many thanks
Hello to you Creepy
Updates for you :
1. Not set date. When we met up with Preston a week ago, he said someone from Adidas said 1 to 2 weeks. However, no release date will be announced due to last minute delays as we have seen from other clubs. 2. No update as just waiting for the council now. Fingers crossed it is sooner rather than later

Off the top of my head, Preston was against this idea. He wants it to be a 2 way conversation with fans, through fans, rather than an "official club channel". Arguments for and against. When we next meet with him, we will raise it again though.
Thinking about funds, would it be worth considering selling programmes in the ground on match days? At Carlisle, whilst there were sellers outside the ground, they had someone go come round just before kick-off and they did sell a few. I’m pretty sure we used to do this several years ago. I know that most people who want to buy a programme will do so before they enter the stadium, but even if we get a few impulse purchases, it’s better than nothing.
Answering this as a fans council "Yes Man Preston Drinking Buddy" Programmes - They have always been for sale inside the ground as far as I have seen at turnstile entrance to East Stand in South East corner. Maybe we dont have enough volunteer sellers to cover all areas (we dont have enough volunteers full stop!)? Also seen a seller walking down East Stand path during games at time.
I have avoided this forum for a couple of years until recently as so many personal vendettas from anonymous keyboard warriors who want to complain but not do anything. I now have a new login as my previous one wouldnt let me in to respond to some of the comments regarding our motives for answering a request from Preston for people to join the council (which any of you could have done).
One issue I see raised above ( as an example of a positive improvement) by Jim Baker a while back mentioning Redz only half open for first game post match - That was one thing I raised forcefully to Preston when we had our first "live" meeting (or as Trev likes to call it a jolly and free lunch), and said it was unacceptable and has been like this for a long time, Preston took this to staff meeting the next day along with many other points raised. The Redz bar has now been fully open after matches for people to sit down and we are starting to see improvements in catering another thing we have been bashing him about, Another thing we raised was queues and a bottle bar has also been put in place until the extended license is approved. BUT he does allow the club staff to run alot of the day to day stuff and does not want to take over operationally so he has to go through club staff meetings for alot of the items we raise, and he does also have other things to do.
Personally I struggle to see how we can communicate fans council decisions across all these different platforms and please everybody (impossible with some on here!), maybe some of the harshest critics will come on board and get involved from the inside rather than throwing around snide untruths and can be the spokesperson for this forum? People will be spending all there spare time populating several platforms with duplicated information? Doesnt the Fan Council Facebook and Twitter give people enough avenues to raise concerns?
Also it needs to be remembered the fans council is to raise issues and try and get answers and actions it isnt a decision making body of fans so there is no "Yes Men" element because we dont have any powers to decide we try and communicate. Mick Fox
What it needs is organising like the fans council having either fortnightly or monthly meetings and an email address where fans can put questions forward and see a reply. I put a question to a member and got no response or conviction that my question would be taken up. I now hear they were all taken out for a meal so is it a friends luncheon club seems Preston has picked a band of yes people. I wont bother to put anything else forward till i see it working.
First monthly meeting was a zoom meeting, just introducing people (as we had never up to that point been out drinking with Preston), this second monthly meeting was central in Town to make easy for all to get to.
Have you never heard of a working lunch, or had a meeting where food was present? An evening was the time when we could all make it and gave up several hours of our time, lots of questions raised which Preston then took to the club staff meeting (including catering, Redz queues improvements to which have started now to be made as a result). Is that so terrible to have food served while doing this? This is early days in council and it will improve. But there are opportunities for others to join, a chance for you to step forward and you might get some food or a drink and you can say yes or no as much as you like!
No mention of a fan from this forum. Why not? What a disgrace. How were they chosen. Frosty is one of them. More Kellogs than a scobby do. None, I say none of you speak for me.

Here you are Trev. Good opportunity to get involved and do something instead of complaining.

Life aint like that anymore hasnt been for long time. Need to accept a handful of different medias.

Fans Council, drinking, eating and working all at the same time, sounds like No. 10 Downing Street
FWIW I think the fan council is a good idea. Sorry to sound thick, but what is the best way to ask questions? Facebook? Twitter? Email?
I'm wracking my brains to think if there is a solution that will shows all asked questions, which can be filtered on answered and pending. But I may be over engineering it...
