Central midfield is definitely the thinnest area of the squad so this is a blow. Hess and Powell are solid pros but I don’t know if they have the consistency to get us where we want to be, as much as I like Powell’s desire to play football, as much as we look good when he gets those little short balls going between him and Nichols and Tsaroulla.
When most of us were voting for a midfielder, I reckon we had centre mid in mind so it was a disappointment to end up with a wingback who has been caught up in the injury plague. Little misstep there by Wagmi I think.

I hope Francomb can rescue us
Maybe Brandon Mason can finally play. We voted for him after all!
Is Francomb injured (again)? Or is he just not getting picked? We definitely need him in our midfield. TBH we need three in midfield, not two and wing-backs - it's not working. Switch to a back four and actually defend. If that means hoofing it into row Z to clear our lines then that's what we need to do, not try and play our way out and end up playing our way into trouble. Just get the ball out of danger. We wouldn't concede so many soft goals then.
As for the midfield, we need an enforcer, and we don't have one. We need a decent AM who can get the ball forwards quickly and get us on an attacking foot. We had Balagizi but now he's injured, who else is there? We have been too lightweight and weak in midfield for a few seasons now and it hasn't been addressed. KB needs to sort out the midfield urgently. I'm not sure we have the players though. We are too static in midfield, oppo players run through the middle of the park unchallenged far too many times, and usually score.
We have some good, talented players, but the formation is wrong, the set-up and tactics are not working. KB has changed things a bit since the start of the season, but there has been little improvement. We are losing far too many games, and are just not competing at the level we need to. We are easy to beat which is a massive worry. KB needs to stop the rot asap. Losing is a habit. We seem to have it. Inadequate attacking play, too few goals, shambolic defending at times, weak midfield. With the playing budget we have this season that's just not good enough. I want KB to be successful here. I want him to find solutions to our current troubles, improve results and have us move up the table out of danger. I really hope he can achieve this, but I'm not sure he will. I'm not calling for him to be sacked, but he must realise things can't continue as they are. I don't know how much longer WAGMI will give him.

There's been quite a few references in the official site videos that Francomb is injured. It's a conspiracy theory that there are a huge number of senior pros kicking a ball in frustration at the Horsham training ground not getting games, I mean Ransom and Adebowale who had no league record got picked we were so thin. Just as that source who said Tsaroulla wasn't getting picked despite being fit was telling mischievous lies, and why people would want to do this baffles me?

It was a genuine question Steve. I don't watch many of the CTFC videos, always mean to. So I might miss a bit of news here and there. A shame George is injured again, we really do miss him in the team. He seemed to be the only one that could play out from the back without causing panic and giving the ball away.
Does anyone have a clue about Dion Conroy? What was his injury? It must be a long term one cos he's been missing for ages. Anyone have any idea when he might be back? Likewise Tobi Omole. It's lucky we have so many CBs on the books this season.
Whether this player or that player is injured is besides the point. For the second season on the trot we are being decimated by injuries!
I dont know the cause. I dont know the cure but someone, somewhere does and we need to find her/him quick.
Jim Baker
Jim, why not give 57away a call - Hes up to scratch on this! Seriously though, there is a problem and one which needs to be understood. is it the way we train, what we train on, are we just unlucky? I think you've raised a very important question.

Omole ruptured his ACL pretty badly, won’t be playing again until next season. Conroy is back from injury but whether he’s fit enough to play we’ll see tomorrow.
All very frustrating, but perhaps we should have focused on signing players who were ready for L2 football, even if the numbers were fewer.
Mason, Wells, Johnson, Ogungbo, Davis, Jenks, Marshall, Chukwuemeka, Bremang....they can't all have been signed for the future, surely.
What's the story with Dominic Telford? Great excitement in the summer but seems to spend more time on the bench?
Some of the PL U23s we signed are only on loan, so there's no building for the future there. We have to give them back in the summer. Balagizi, Fellows, Jenks, Mazeed, Balcombe, Robson.....all loanees. It was clearly a Project Promotion attempt from KB and Wagmi bringing them all in at once. It isn't working.

Where did you get this info from?
Not doubting you in any way but one of my bug bears with the club is the secrecy around players fitness. It's as if everyone knows who is injured so no one bothers to ask in the interviews.
