could be a “verbal agreement” but yeah as you allude to seems to be a bit bull before the start of the window and especially for that price! I think either way looks like he’s not playing anytime soon. If ever again for Crawley sadly.
I’m not really bothered if you want to call it out as bullsh!t or not tbh.
The fact is I was told by a very reliable source that Young was told to leave out Craig and Nichols prior to Gillingham away and he ignored the instruction.
By Sunday Young is out of a job and the very next game Craig is on the bench and Nichols is completely out the squad with the manager claiming it was “out of his hands”.
I’m not sure which part of that doesn’t stack up?
Can you check with your source how come Craig is in the team then tonight

And Lynch didn’t last long (so was obviously carrying and injury) and Ransom was first sub with no Ludy in the sqaud. Needs must.
No one said he’s been told to never pick him again ffs. Just that LY was advised to not pick him, or Nicholls, then did, and was then sacked 4 days later.
It’s really not hard to understand.

Please don’t bring your stupid conspiracy theories on to this forum and then start swearing at people if they point out inconsistencies

Swearing at people? Wow, that’s really over sensitive.
Inconsistencies in the conspiracy theory?
I’ll just make this clear one more time for the people at the back wearing dunces hats.
This was what I was told by someone very very close to the club before the Swindon game.
Lewis Young was told by the DoF that he should leave Tom Nicholls and Tony Craig out of the side against Gillingham due to their performance stats in recent games (not sure if that was several or just the previous game). LY picked both players against that advice and the game against bottom of the table Gillingham ended 0-0.
With no game that weekend, LY was sacked 5 days later on the Sunday morning. If you ignore the DoF advice on team selection you damn well better beat the side bottom of the league at home with your own choices on the pitch.
The next game 37 year old Tony Craig, who has a nice 2 year contract that’s unlikely to be matched anywhere else was left out and quietly sat on the bench while the 29 year old Tom Nichols who is out of contract soon and likely very sought after, was left out of the squad all together for reasons “beyond (the new managers) control”. Which suggests to me that had it been in his control he’d have been included!
My take on that is that Tony Craig really had no option other than to do as he was told while Tom Nichols had the raging ump said something or spoke out of turn and refused to sit on the bench.
That last para, is just my interpretation. There may or may not be interest in Tom Nichols and I’d guess there is which he probably knew about and fuelled his resistance to being messed about.
As for last night. Yes Tony Craig played. My bet is he most definitely WASNT starting until Ludwig pulled out that afternoon with sickness and ME was left with no option other than what he’d consider an unknown young player in a Harry Ransom. Football managers will always plump for experienced defenders in that situation.
Remember I haven’t said Tony Craig was being disciplined or had upset anyone, only that the DoF had recommended that due to performance that he should be dropped. Lewis denied that request and cost him his job and ME adhered to that request until unavailability made Tony Craig the only selection possible.
It’s no conspiracy theory and it’s most definitely not inconsistent regardless of your scepticism.

So you’re so secure in your creative stories here you’ve gone from having a little swearing hissy fit when someone questions you to calling people dunces if they don’t believe your evidence-free guesswork. Your only evidence is “someone told me, trust me bruv”.
Craig was included in the team even though we had two guys on the bench who’ve played centre back this season, Ransom and Mazeed.
I’ve certainly heard of deadlier hit lists than that really.
I’ll always come back to the story about Nick Tsaroulla being supposedly forced out of the club because some source close to the club said it was happening. That garbage went so far round the fan base one of the local papers even asked a very puzzled Betsy about it.
Have you ever considered the more likely explanation here? Our owners are just not that popular in some quarters for various reasons and people just enjoy making any old crap up to make them look bad?

This myth that anything anyone ever says that doesn’t feel comfortable saying who it is that told them, must be make believe. 😂😂
I really don’t mind if you believe me or not but to accuse me of fabricating it or “evidence free guesswork” is funny if it wasn’t just plain rude or disrespectful.
What if to justify it I just made up that it was Kevin Betsy that told me (it wasn’t but you wouldn’t know that) would that be any different to me saying it was someone who really wouldn’t want to be named? Does that make it more believable?
I doubt it.
Ffs = a swearing hissy fit 😂😂😂😂 never been in a dressing room, building site or office block have you 😂😂
Fwiw would you pick either Ransom or Mazeed over Craig for a game v Hartlepool on a frozen pitch when you’ve barely seen either of them play or would you plump for your 700 game veteran?
DoF advised that Craig should be left out based on statistical form he didn’t say never pick him again, and I never suggested he did.

Sure, why not say it’s Kevin Betsy? For me there isn’t really a lot of difference between presenting a load of accusations that can’t possibly be checked and making stuff up? It’s the same outcome?
I know you won’t take my advice but if you genuinely want to be believed, you got to do two basic things.
1) stop personally insulting people. We aren’t “dunces” for wanting to kick the tyres on these web of accusations you are making.
2) Go back to your source and ask why if he’s uncovered such awful wrongdoing, he’s not prepared to go on the record? Or if he’s not prepared to go on the record, point to someone who would be? I mean this is a vast conspiracy you are alleging, no manager is a real manager at Crawley this season, the team is being picked from on high etc etc, there must be loads of people who know about it? Yet mysteriously they are all silent?
The obvious place to start is why haven’t Kevin Betsy or Lewis Young said anything about this? Neither is beholden to the club any more, they can say what they like, Kev is even safely working with Toure at Wigan, why wouldn’t he say something about being undermined?
Unless we apply Occam’s razor of course - it simply didn’t happen
