This is an excellent move; homelessness is a modern scourge. Sure, there have always been homeless people, but these days it's much harder to remove oneself from the vicious loop. You don't need to have a drink or drug problem any more to fall down that particular rabbit hole (I was homeless for a while when I was 16 and 17). In those days you could pick up a job without any real checks, then get scrubbed up and rent a room in someone's house. These days it's different as everyone wants to know all your business with computer checks, including the stuff that they should have no right to know. Government regulation is part of the problem as they are jumpy that someone who can speak colloquial English with a local accent might have just swum the channel. I won't be supporting Shelter, but that's because I already support the Open House and Free Shop instead. It tends to keep the help local. N.B. I'm not trying to persuade others to do likewise.
