I cannot see anything about what happens next in that statement. Right now it would be helpful to know who will manage the team tonight. The ref will want to know who is the main contact in the dugout. I can only assume coach Darren Byfield. What I found particularly infuriating is the "nothing to lose" well we have points to lose, a game to lose and ultimately our football league status. Do WAGMI even realise there is relegation from league Two?
What a ridiculous, arrogant statement................. It came across as if HE knows what he's doing and the Reds Supporters don't. He's tried to turn it around that Matt Etherington was at fault, NOT Smith !!!
He's either a COWARD that can't admit to his failures, or is just too thick to own up to incompetence.
He also forgot to mention how he got it wrong by employing Betsy !!!
I'm stunned by what I've just read. It seems to confirm the worst fears of most fans that the club is being run on the basis of arbitrary stats. I can see a big backlash from the fans and potentially we will be mocked by other fans and in the media now if this reaches a big enough audience.
Are they hellbent on making matters worse? I find these statements very alarming for many reasons and now think they actually want the fans to vote them out! Otherwise, none of this makes sense. I was worried we are facing relegation, but now I am worried if we will have a club come the end of the season!

Playing devil's advocate ever so slightly, I can see his point on the shot ratio under Young, mostly because we all lambasted Betsy for exactly the same thing when he was here. Of course results were better, but that doesn't seem as important to the owners tbh.
His comments about 'veteran players' and connecting it to the Yems investigation is a little needlessly cryptic. Perhaps a heads up as to why certain players won't be featuring tonight or probably ever again, but what that has to do with Yems is anyone's guess.
Also interesting that he said the Nichols decision will be explained once the deal officially goes through. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
Good luck to whoever is there tonight, let's pray for an incredibly unlikely three points from <insert whoever is stupid enough to take charge>'s red and white army!
The main thing I want answering is- Why was Nichols sold? That hasn't been explained at all. WAGMI told us the budget had increased and was one of the best in the league yet one of best players has been sold mid season to relegation rival! Which stats told WAGMI that was a good idea!

CTFC Twitter have just said that Darren Byfield will take charge tonight, with Old Moonshiner himself, PRESTON JOHNSON sitting in the Dug-out next to him !!!
