We will need to add some experienced L1 players so some of this seasons heroes will need to move on, sad reality of football.
Tsaroulla dropped down the pecking order last few months and I don’t think SL considers him good enough for L1. Similarly with Campbell. I think SL will want 5 new first choice players to give us a chance. Only room for one of Roles and J Kelly.
Strongly suspected he’d signed for someone else already.
Been told by someone who met with him a few weeks ago, that Nick was worried they were going to let him go, as he was in the bench and not starting. Hopefully as he is in negotiations, it is a positive for us, and him👍
I think its as good as we could have hoped for at this stage, I am still wary that the team may look very different in a couple of months time, I dont see the 1 year options triggered as certainty that both Danilo and Corey will be with us next season, both these players will be worth a substantial amount in transfer fees and the option ensures that CTFC will get the benefit. If the current "in negotiation" players sign I see that as a clear indication that they are not intending to move on and that Scott has given them some sort of assurances that he is not moving on. It must be quite a conflict for all of them balancing the potential to cash in while their stock is high versus the desire to see what they can achieve next season by staying together.
Lets hope the stick together movement wins out.
I thought 1-year options when triggered automatically meant that player was signed for the following year?

That is correct, but what I was getting at was that the triggering of an automatic does not indicate that the player is not open to offers and does not indicate the same commitment to stay as a player who signs a new or extended contract, I am not saying that either of these players are not enthusiastic to stay, simply that we cannot read too much into the unilateral triggering of the option.
Why not both? Surely it's a no brainer to offer J Kelly a contract, he was superb for us and instrumental in our play off charge.
Depends how big a squad we can afford really. I’m not convinced either are going to be good enough at L1.
I think Addai, Wright, Conroy, Williams, L Kelly and Orsi are definitely worthy starters in L1 but they will need to be supplemented with players with L1 experience. I’d definitely like to see Lolos, Darcy and Gordon in the first match day squad too.
It's called a squad. Players get injured or suspended, you need people to come into the team to replace them. You can't bin off everyone who isn't an automatic starter.
Roles was pretty meh his first season with us, but he's improved immeasurably this season. A lot of the players have improved a great deal under Lindsey's coaching. Can't see them wanting to leave tbh. It's possible our owners have triggered the options on Orsi and Addai so that they can then sell them for a fee. But I think it's unlikely.
Find this clamour for Nick T to stay quite strange. He’s not really got a look in this season, why does anyone think that changes in L1?
Although he has played a lot less since the turn of the year, he had a lot more game time before that. I found it a little puzzling at first, because I saw no drop-off in form prior to him being benched.
I suspect the issue was systemic: when he did start playing more he was on the right rather than wide left and cutting in. Although the latter looks good to a supporter, it may not fit in with how Lindsay wants the team to play. It's hard to argue with as well, because when we have a left-sided defender who isn't doing a Terry Cooper, the defence looks a bit more stable. It's probably no coincidence that Tsaroulla's benching coincided with Forster's emergence as a left-sided problem for other teams.
However, there is definitely room for both in the squad.
The Wembley final brought it home to me just how much flexibility there is in this squad.
I admire peoples loyalty to the players but we have to be realistic - L1 is a step up. Yes we had a great last 4 games but remember this squad lost 18 league games this season so do you really think it can survive in L1.
