So betsy and etherington both gone after being total newbies to the job. So whats the chance of Clemence being at Gillingham at end of season? I do hope he is otherwise the Scott circus will burst back into action !

Yes, I want Clemence to do well enough to avoid the sack. Mind you, I think it would be folly to sack him before the end of next season due to this month being his first available transfer window and giving time for his ideas to start working. I suppose Gillingham feel their natural target is to be a regular Championship team eventually.

I actually find myself looking out for their results now hoping they go on a decent run of form for that very reason, sad I know.
I’m sure their owners would be happy to revisit their initial decision and go back to hunting SL which I wouldn’t want at all for obvious reasons.
Hopefully his attitude would be, bugger off you didn’t want me the first time, go swivel (with respect).
We certainly dodged a bullet with Mattie Etherington never nice people getting the sack but i think he would of been no better than Betsy and we would of been relegated.
Reminder that an up and coming new manager that has one of the best managerial records at the club was pushed out by Wagmi for this guy.
Although Lewis Young was given the heave-ho by the owners without deserving it, it's hard to argue that they didn't eventually get it right by appointing SL. The problem, as you allude, was the bit in the middle when they appointed ME (as in Etherington - not my good self ). I'm not going to say too much about ME because we were not party to what went on behind the scenes. Although it's impossible to know, my gut says that the owners were desperate and made him promises they couldn't keep - or gave him false impressions. It's odd for someone to leave so soon unless there has been an element of mis-selling.
