While watching the latest training session on YouTube there were a couple of faces I didn't recognise I assume they are either fringe players or trialists maybe some of you hawk eyed members could help me.

They could be fringe players. I recognised Sandford, Greensall, Brown and probably Kastrati. I believe players on loan to local non league clubs train with us when they can.

After just reading about Eben Smith being infatuated by ''MONEYBALL'' its definately gonna be more of the same this January, Freebies & Loan Signings ONLY. He apparently likes the Brentford, Brighton & Harrogate Way of Doing Business!
Geez - how many more years of the ''Moneyball Ways''? Mind you, there are perhaps not too many better managers than SL for signing Moneyball Players!

I think Harrogate have done brilliantly this season. They sold Luke Armstrong for £500,000 to Carlisle and have cut their wage bill by £10k per week - another £500,000 and doing better than last season. They have only signed Free Transfers this season - not paid a Penny Out - wow! So Moneyball can work - Occasionally!

You’re exactly right.
Also 5 wins from their last 7 games and at one point this season already, had one of the best away records in the league.
They’ve been good to watch and they play with a fair amount of confidence with a counter attacking style.
Makes our win against them at home look all the more impressive!
Starting to get slightly nervous about our lack of transfer activity so far, especially when I see other clubs signing shit loads of players as updated on social media posts almost daily.
However SL did say he was being supported by the owners and lots of hard work is going on behind the scenes.
That’s basically what’s keeping me hopeful currently , but only just.
I notice a lot of the signings are by teams at the wrong end of the table (the ones that need to sign players).I
I would expect any movement would be in the last week or so of window, as usual. I expect we had to wait for the three recent recalls to be finalised before money could be released. Scott did say in a recent interview these things take time and he did not expect things to happen soon. The Sandford signing hard to be sorted quickly as we would have only one keeper once LAH was recalled.
Jayden Davis has moved to Braintree on loan till end of season (previously at Farnborough) and Florian Kastrati is on loan at Kingstonian for a month (previously at Cheshunt)

Isn't that what he always says though? Hard work going on behind the scenes could mean anything. SL did say that any incomings would be towards the end of the window, so I'm not panicking yet. Just not very hopeful we have the funds to get anyone decent in.
You would hope we will at least hear about Maguire soon if we can afford it and he wants to stay beyond the end of this month. Scott was very clear he wanted him to stay and I can't see Chesterfield needing him back.
