He seems happy with us - he has his own song already. Appears he is SL's first choice CB, along with Conroy, the third CB being whoever is fit, or not needed in midfield. I hope he signs with us permanently.
I’m underwhelmed, but not for the reasons you’d think.
Was hoping we’d actually signed him permanently, not just extended the loan.
This better be because SL wants it that way and not penny pinching by Wagmi.
I imagine Chesterfield are paying some of his wages, which is why extending the loan makes sense. Isn't he out of contract in the summer? Then he'd be available on a free. If SL wanted to sign him permanently, I'm sure our owners would back him as no transfer fee would be involved. Personally I'd like him to stay beyond this season.

I think some of you have short memories, Mcguire has had loads of poor games and made loads of mistakes this season. Admittedly he's a had a few decent games amongst, but he's average at best! Loan Extension ONLY is the right call! We only want to sign Players Permanently who have Top Half League Two Ability or Better!

All in all best for club. I have loved his obvious enjoyment of playing for us but like some wonder if he is long term material for us if we do aspire to higher and better things.
We can aspire all we want, but we're not going to achieve anything with our owners not having the money to push us to the next level, or the ability, for that matter.
We are a mid-table L2 team, on our day we can beat anyone, but too often the team actually has an off day, and are poor. I'll be happy with us staying in L2, until someone with more money comes along and buys the club. We are too inconsistent to make a genuine push for the play offs. I'd love SL and the lads to prove me wrong though.

On same page Northgate. Totally agree with your team assessment.
We all probably hope or aspire for more which is why the lottery succeeds but in reality we have to be realistic and accept what we are at the moment.
I am probably happier than some that Wagmi have provided funds to keep us going and it does seem their capacity to spend isnt huge but that is the same at many clubs and I am certainly enjoying more games this year than for a number of years.
Will a knight in shining armour board your bus and appear triumphantly through the tunnel to take us to the next level, unnlikely but we can always hope. In the mean time enjoy what we have and I for one do appreciate the work and effort being put in by Scott and yes even Wagmi.

I'm not our owners biggest fan, but I am grateful that they have bought the club and kept us in business, whilst SL did the hard job of keeping us in the Football League.
Nuneaton Borough are about to go into liquidation, such a sad situation. I don't think CTFC is in any danger of going out of business, so us not being good enough to make the play-offs isn't such a big deal in the grand scheme of things. And I'm liking our owners 'stay quiet, let Lindsey run the show' approach to things this season. We are performing much better on the pitch (sometimes!) and there is no clown show accompanying things this season.

He had all the subtlety of a house brick, rinsing out one of his own players like that. Shame he's been sacked, he was doing a great job of getting Forest Gump relegated.

Exactly this. For a club like Crawley it costs between £1m and £1.4m pa to stand still in League 2 (the latter being the last available figure at June 2022). I imagine finding owners willing to throw these amounts around each year is a thankless task.
Like you I would be surprised if we made the play offs, but it isn't out of the question, and if we progressed in the FLT that generates decent cash.
Also what would be the implications of being promoted? The £1.4m pa would likely double, based on our last experience of League 1. Alternatively there is a risk of doing a FGR or Yeovil and heading straight through League 2 on the way out....
