Reality is we’re a miles better team than last season and in a far stronger position in the league.
Folks have short memories as to how bad it actually was last year.
As well as the need for the team to start getting a grip, we fans also need to do our bit and get behind the team as of Tuesday onwards .
I don't have a short memory thank you. I can remember everything about last season (unfortunately). Yes we are doing a lot better, but what I find so frustrating is SLs inability to deal with our poor defence, and his failure to change things when we are losing and being dominated by the opposition. Its the same formation, same tactics, same substitutions, same obsession with passing it around instead of attacking, same game plan of possession for possession's sake. It's clearly not working. Switching Tsaroulla to the right is baffling and has been unsuccessful. Playing people out of position isn't a strategy, it's a sign of a manager having run out of ideas. We have owners who are either skint or are disinterested (I'm sure they will say differently at the fans forum) and it was a pretty lame transfer window for us. Any hopes of a push for the play offs can be forgotten. Performances are getting worse, we are on a losing run, and slowly sliding down the table. As much as I will be happy with mid table mediocrity aka survival, we have the potential to be so much better, but it's being wasted. Yes, we're doing better than last season. Thank you for continually pointing that out.
SL could have fixed the defence problems in the transfer window. The price would have been penalties for financial mismanagement further down the road. I would rather have a defence that needs a plumber.

Oh please. He signed a defender on loan. Doesn't play him. Has defenders in the squad never given a chance. Sticks with the same choices game after game. Sticks with three at the back when it isn't working any more. We can sign unattached players for free. Their wages won't break the bank. I doubt we pay high wages to any of the squad anymore.
He could try a back four, see if that stops the soft goals we keep conceding. Work hard in training on defending, clearing your lines when under pressure, putting some tackles in rather than letting oppo players have a clear, unchallenged run at goal. Forget the pass it around at the back nonsense.
Don't think doing any of that will breach FFP regulations? Or we could just accept mediocre performances and constant defeats, happy in the knowledge that we're doing better than last season. Cool if that's ok for you. I know we're not going to win every match - we're Crawley Town ffs. But I don't like leaving games feeling I've wasted my money and wishing I hadn't bothered going.
I notice we played in the white shirt, and don't think we have won with that kit yet. I checked and were right - only one point, as opposed to 6 with the red kit, and 8 with the green. May be we should use the green kit more in the future?
