I often watch the clips of games on ITVX on my computer, and it can be a pain putting up with the adverts - which you can't wind past like you can on catch-up TV.
I recently discovered, by accident, that if you play the programme in its entirety while doing something else, you can leave it logged in, go back to the start of the programme, and it skips past the adverts as it seems to flag them as already watched.
I realise that this will only be useful for a small minority but thought I would put it out there for anyone who might benefit from this.
Although I have a TV, I don't have a recording facility, so watch many of my TV programmes on the online catch-up services provided by BBC (i-player), ITV (ITVX), and Channel 4. I discovered the advert loophole by accident when I fell asleep while watching, so played it back one Sunday morning. You can do it intentionally by having another browser window open in front of the football-playing window and switching off the sound. However, it is set up to freeze the program if another browser window is open in front. The trick is to set the front window open to marginally less than the maximum.
Now, I imagine that the large majority watch their recorded highlights in another way, so this might only help a tiny minority.
Does anyone know who has got the highlights package for next season? I believe ITV's contract runs out this season.
I know Sky have an extended live EFL Carabao Cup and BSM Trophy package and I follow will be replaced by a Sky streaming service, but I prefer a highlights package. Hopefully it will be on free to air even if it is on Sky Mix.
