Interesting tweet from the club a short time ago thanking Liverpool FC for allowing the lads to train at their facility yesterday on their way up to Accrington.
Can’t imagine that to be too shabby a place to be around and must have been a real good experience for the team to train there.
I seem to remember a while back ( 2/3 years ? ) we let Liverpool train here for their preparation against Brighton.
Travelling back now- should be back at the stadium at 10.30ish - very happy supporters- the man of the match went to Corey Addai and thoroughly deserved-

So, Crawley mess up so many short corners and never get the ball into the danger area and then...
We haven't had much in the way of lump-in-the-box strikers in recent years, so short corners seem to be more prevalent. I think the last decent one might have been Ollie Palmer.

Lump it in the box corners work well when you have tall centre backs to aim for.
Fact from Alain from G H Coaches: Crawley and Accrington are the only EFL sides never to play at Wembley. We are also the oldest current EFL club not to make it. We are also one of five EFL clubs not to play at the new Wembley along with Accrington, Colchester, Ipswich and Blackburn. Hopefully our time will come soon!
Okay, he may have hade a decent game today, that’s his job to stop the ball crossing the goal line.
Let’s see at the end of the season, eh?🙄
JTG
Yes it's his job. And he does it week in week out. He's a good goalkeeper. Not sure why you can't see that.
How many clean sheets in a row is it now?
🙄🙄🙄🙄
At the risk of you revving up the bus again Northgate, JTG makes a valid point. Cory has been massive with his shot stopping especially in the last 3 games but still lacks the all round game to be the finished article (even for league 2). The first clip in the highlights again showed how he and the defenders failed to manage a ball over the top - Cory needs to own these situations and either get the ball or tell whoever to clear it. He has improved tremendously recently and hopefully will continue to do so but JTG has every right to be nervous. Were you there the other day when he side passed a ball into touch under no pressure?

Yes I was, thanks. All goalies make mistakes. JTG would have us believe it's only Corey who does. He has made so many saves this season - and last - that have kept us in games, and gained us a lot of points we wouldn't otherwise have. So one misplaced clearance or wayward goal kick isn't enough to demand we change the goalie.
He could command his box a bit better, but then our defence could defend a bit better and not leave him under so much pressure. And this constant passing back to him (Conroy is the worst for this) is unnecessary and often leads to dangerous situations where we often concede, or come close to it.
I'm not sure what level of keeper you and Gas think CTFC should have? We are L2, he's a decent L2 level goalie. If he was brilliant, he wouldn't be playing for us would he? He's the best we've got. He always gives 100%, and does the job he's paid to do - stops goals. You are always so quick to defend our owners - a real pity you can't give the same consideration to Corey.

Completely agree.
I don’t get it.
All I’ve watched this season so far (loads of times ) is Corey saving our asses and making great saves right, left and centre. He has quite literally saved us points and helped win us games that otherwise we might have lost.
Of course he’s made mistakes but he has MORE than made up for those in other ways. He’s still fairly young and still developing.
Even if there’s a clanger in him in the next few games, I still believe he has tonnes of credit in the back already to make up for those should they happen!

By the way, I’m not his agent!
Don't think we are that far apart. I've complemented him a number of times and made him my MOM but was just saying he isnt yet the finished article so let's not get carried away just yet and hope the goalkeeping coach can help improve the areas that are still weak.
