Still possible but we need either Barrow, Colchester or Gillingham not to lose to Doncaster, and win both of our remaining games. Winning both of our two remaining games, may be the hardest of these two tasks. If we don't win both our games, that will probably be it unless either Wimbledon or Bradford get points of Walsall too.

Doncaster surely have to lose eventually. If they make the play offcan any team stop them?

They will lose their first game in L1 next season.....
Last three games: one point from nine. That's not promotion form. Not the time to bottle it, but unfortunately we've gone all Spursy.
Totally agree Northgate Red. 1 point from 9 in early to mid April is certainly NOT play-off spot chasing form. And yet, somehow we still occupy a play-off spot?? All we can do is win our remaining 2 games and see where we end up. It's crazy - in theory we could lose both our remaining games and still finish 7th, on the flip side, we could not pick up maximum points and finish 8th. I want a time machine to transport me now to 5pm on Saturday week, so we all know exactly where we stand. The uncertainty and poring over the league table, fixtures and permutations is making me crazy!!
It’s been a crazy last 2 seasons to say the least.
I was a nervous wreck last year where every game towards the end was a cup final for the worst of all reasons and now this year, every game is a nail biter and a six pointer for totally different reasons!
Any chance next season might be more “normal” if there is such a thing if you follow Crawley Town FC?
Truth be known , this season has been the perfect antidote for last seasons traumas.
Crewe GD +4 points 70, max points 73 Barrow GD +7 points 68, max points 74 Crawley GD +4 points 67, max points 70 Doncaster GD + 2 points 67, max points 73 Walsall GD 0 points 65, max points 68 Bradford GD -2 points 63, max points 69
Remaining fixtures: Crewe: A Colchester Barrow: H Bradford, H Mansfield Crawley: H Grimsby Doncaster: A Colchester, A Gillingham Walsall: A AFC Wimbledon Bradford: A Barrow H, Newport
I make that we MUST beat Grimsby so we gain 70 points, so forget Walsall and Bradford, meaning one of Crewe, Barrow and/or Doncaster have to drop 3 points (or more).
Which could be:
*** Crewe lost away at Colchester
and/or
*** Barrow draw both games AND we have to beat Grimsby by 3 goals (we tie on GD then BUT we have scored more goals than Barrow)
and/or
*** Barrow lose one match, draw the other (that then means GD we would have to beat Grimsby by at least 2 goals)
and/or
*** Doncaster lose one of their matches (assuming each match is won & lost by a single goal, we have a +3 goal advantage over Doncaster, so we cannot have e.g. Doncaster winning one of their games 4-0 unless we win 2-0 etc.) and/or
Unfortunately we have hit poor form at the worst time possible. Only 2 points from four games is relegation, not promotion form. Only Barrow, Newport and Morecambe have collected less points. Somehow we need to get 3 points on Saturday and hope one of Crewe, Doncaster and possibly Barrow lose! But at least we still have a chance on the last day.
Looking at play off qualification, I keep thinking of the potential financial benefits to the club regardless of whether we progress from these stages or not.
There will be a fair few quid coming to the club from Sky TV coverage and increased crowds and profile nationally.
There are no negatives as far as I’m concerned, we just need to qualify first!
What an amazing season as we enter its final week: four play-off slots, three of which are still up for grabs. Okay, our chance is now well below 50%, but that might change again on Tuesday and swing back to over 50%. Will Alain take a few coachloads up to Colchester for the Crawley branch of the Colchester Supporters Club?
