This morning is the first time I have checked on this, as the pool team I play in was busy getting slaughtered by a team two divisions higher in a cup game last night. Realistically, a win (by any score) is the only chance we have of a play-off spot. A draw could do it but would need Barrow to lose by two goals or more (not impossible against Mansfield) and for Bradford to not win. Walsall would need to win by five. I think we have to assume that Bradford will win at home to Newport.
So, go for the win and hope Barrow fail to win. A win for us and a draw for Barrow would do it and that is quite possible. Also, a win for us and a defeat for Doncaster or Crewe would do it too. Incredibly, we could still finish 5th.
The dream is still alive.
As for Sutton United, amazingly, they are still not out of the league. They must win at MK Dons (who have nothing to play for). Anything can happen in a one-game shoot-out. Meanwhile, Colchester are up against Crewe, who still need something to ensure a play-off spot (as do Doncaster). A four-goal swing is only two at each end, but it's probably five in reality as Sutton have scored fewer goals.
I am so glad that Crewe and Doncaster aren't paired up on the final day: it would be the biggest stitch-up since the Bayeux Tapestry.
EDIT: Talking of stitch-ups, what's the odds on Colchester v Crewe finishing 0-0?
Wouldn't be at all surprised if Colchester crewe ends 0-0 as serves them both perfectly Dout they will either see a need to try and win the game but rather keep a strong defence and not take risks
I have a feeling that Gillingham may have a say in the promotion race. Home to Doncaster, Gillingham have much to prove after their poor finish to the season.
"Colchester United's home clash against Crewe Alexandra has been selected for live coverage on Sky Sports this Saturday. As the curtain comes down on the 2023/24 campaign in Sky Bet League One and Sky Bet League Two this weekend, the final round of fixtures will be played. It's a battle at both ends of the table for Colchester and Crewe, with the U's needing just a point to secure their League Two status for another season, while a draw would also see the Railwaymen confirm their Play-Off spot."
This sets a new precedence doesn't it as 3pm Saturday was off limits previously. I think its a good move as an great opportunity, but surely Crawley (and others) have a claim against Sky for lost attendance (the floating fan may decide to stay at home and watch he drama')?
I'm wondering if I will end up watching Crawley live with one eye and another on my mobile phone watching this match! I bet someone in the Reds dugout will be!
Colchester v Crewe has possibility of match fixing - if in later stages a draw suits both - they may keep it that way. This sort of thing has happened in football before.

I believe the last game is an exception in Sky's contract for the no screening at 3pm on a Saturday.
