This is brilliant again but let’s limit the away supporters to the East Stand only - even if we let them have an extra bay of seats and give both end terraces to home supporters- if we are in contention for the playoffs then we will fill the stadium
Before anyone else does can I get in quickly with it devalues season tickets
I can see this point, but it still represents great value compared with other League 2 clubs, and I expect to miss a couple of games a season due to other commitments anyway (last year I couldn't attend one of the £2 games due to a family party). On the plus side it hopefully encourages new fans that may attend again (the Grimsby and possibly Barrow game depending on when arranged?).
Like last year it will probably mean packed bar and food queues so will arrive early again. Hopefully extra staff will be there?
Any proven stats it improved attendances from previous deals?
Trouble is dont we have to offer the same pricing to away fans? Whats stopping a Col U fan for example purchasing the deal (Im assuming you must buy in to both games) and chucking the other away or selling it?

My recollection is that attendances were much higher, but they may have been higher anyway as they were critical relegation battles.

Over 3000 home fans for Harrogate and 4500 home fans for Rochdale, plus 200-300 away fans each game, so attendances were definitely higher than would have been. Slightly better attendances for subsequent games. I think the deal is for each game not both, as Doncaster tickets released before Colchester.

That would make more sense two SEPERATE games for £2 each though its not overly clear and could be taken as 2 games for a TOTAL of £2 If it ultimately grows the club fan base then on balance I approve the deal
The thing with this offer is, people who only attend these types of game, only ever associate coming to Crawley when it's on a freebie / special offer.
They don't bother coming to full price matches.
I think the real answer to increasing the fan base is to win football matches, and win things , and have success ( look at our day out at Old Trafford, our trip to Crystal Palace in the League Cup, etc, big crowds , paying full price. )
