I was at the game and everyone I saw did not use a digital ticket, but a printed one, as it appeared that was the only way to use the ticket at the turnstiles, maybe I am wrong, but I can only go by what I saw....
There were 84,000 people there so you could only have seen a small sample but paper and digital tickets were accepted.
However to clarify: there is no need for everyone to have a printer on standby.
This is the first mention I've seen of print-at-home. Smartphone only would be wrong, I feel Not everyone has or wants one. Those who have might plan badly and lose charge (or have an old one whose battery life is short). They can get lost, broken, or stolen shortly before an event. At least having a paper back-up gives an extra layer of security.
I'm with you 100% on preference for paper copies, so long as the ticket was printed correct size A4 it wasn't an issue entering through the automated turnstiles last year. But given time restrictions this could be electronic entry only. Just make sure you get there early if in doubt (Wembley do have a ticket office on the day as far as I'm aware for queries but obviously you don't wanna join a queue there if you can help it) and of course a back up charger or I would say powerbank pre-charged (you can even buy these pre-charged) are always handy. Some are quite small so pocket size.
I will take both paper and digital. I want to get there a bit early as I might have an issue about other stuff. It's all resolvable but I won't be too impressed about a steward trying to overrule my doctor.

A GP note for any medical equipment for example in excess of bag size would no doubt be handy - check the Wembley official website. I'm all sorted I have my fishing vest waistcoat ready with 101 pockets just don't be behind me in the queue in case they ask me to empty my pockets!
Crewe fans starting to receive their tickets block by block so I mention this in case that is what happens with Crawley (and to avoid panic of ppl stating they have theirs and others haven't received theirs)
Any update on current ticket sales ? How many have Crew sold. Would be good if we could get a crowd of 40000 plus would be a very nice extra income for the club.

Unusual query for Ticketmaster - My email account was full up so unable to send or receive emails - thinking sh1t what now - rang Ticketmaster and they confirmed no tickets for Crawley have been sent out yet and they will be sending them 48 hours ahead of the event, i.e. tomorrow. Phew! They also confirmed they are print at home or digital. Took 15 mins to get through on call if anyone has to ring them that was my experience as well as Ed Sheeran on repeat castle on the hill playing whilst held in the queue.
I just think telling fans its print at home or digital would have been really useful information (take note please CTFC) as if you are serving customers (fand) you need to think like them. Personally I think this is basic information we should have had upfront.

In general, this is something that companies need to do a lot more - trial a system on ordinary people who have no inside knowledge of the company's methods. If they were to do that for a while, they would reduce enquiries manyfold. Only then should something go live. The assumption of prior knowledge on the part of the customer makes companies look amateurish.
