It was a great goal wasn't it? And sooooo important! Started as a cross to an unmarked Orsi, who I'm not entirely sure wasn't offside. But the ball came back to Kelly off a Crewe player, so no worries about VAR checking for a possible offside. Thank [***}!
Was sitting right in line with the trajectory of the shot behind the goal and seeing it pass by their defender with the goalie out of position sailing in to the net, was something to behold.

I briefly wondered if the defender's hand caught the ball while he was on the floor, but I think handball would have been harsh even if there was contact. The ball was in the net before the ref could have whistled, anyway.
It seems to be the consensus that we were far and away the better side against Crewe and that we overran them.
Were we the better side on the day? Yes.
Did we deserve to win? Yes.
But I never saw us as overwhelming them. I thought we were marginally the better side in the first half and just about deserved our half-time lead.
We were also the better side in the second half by a bigger margin than the first, but I didn't start feeling more comfortable until the second went in. Until that happened, I always felt Crewe were capable of switching gears and forcing extra time.
Maybe it's that I'm naturally a more cautious person when it comes to football matters: even when I played I was a big (fat) central stopper whereas my peers all wanted to be goalscoring heroes. I was even a passable goalkeeper, though I must stress this was all at a *very* low level. Who knows, if I had been coached well and had the dedication, I might have made County League standard, but it's unlikely.
No you're right, I actually thought we started quite slowly, wasn't quite coming off for us, then we gradually got better. Second half was a lot more comfortable, despite, as you say, only having that one goal lead and only being one mistake/moment of genius/split-second away from being pulled level. Timing of the second goal was obviously fantastic, and a memorable moment.

With a fair wind, no injuries and a bit of luck I reckon I could have made div 2....of the Crawley and district league.
Funnily enough, the manager at Fisher Athletic did offer me a trial there but he thought I was part of the squad because I was chatting to our players in the bar.
