I think he will go as he is very frustrated that the club still haven’t resolved the training ground issues and he also lives in Yorkshire so he would be a lot nearer home. I would like him to stay as we really need some stability but if his head has been turned then it’s probably best that he goes now.

Skybet odds now 1/3, looks like a done deal. Shirley appointing John Yems or Craig Brewster would be a backward step. If we don't go forward we are going backwards because other clubs in our division with ambition are going forward. The time for the two aforementioned was long ago. That time is past. Appointing either of those two would be a low budget appointment and show a complete lack of ambition by the owners a la the ambitions of Torquay United, and they will soon be fighting relegation from the National League South! Cue the vitriol.
The owners must be miffed having backed Kewell and he takes off.
They could have refused permission for him to talk to them.
Any thought that with more money coming into the club then loans may be repaid?
But when has refusing permission ever worked in these circumstances, only really if the person in question has told his club he isn't interested anyway. HK obviously is interested although not sure why to shift sideways within our league. Alright they are bigger than us, but he has finally got "his players", but will go back to not having his players until January maybe, but then I suppose he can use that as an excuse, as he did with us? Not sure why the owner is getting stick because he isn't loyally turning up every game like people on here who cannot be bothered despite us playing entertaining football. The mere fact he has chucked in the odd million or few indicates his commitment? And he has backed HK with signings of Morais, Palmer etc. Who themselves will be feeling a bit pissed off if he does up sticks so soon after convincing them of his "project". Mind you his past hasn't necessarily been one of commitment to a cause if something looks juicier elsewhere. But then maybe this is all just rumours (unlikely as there are no denials from him or the club).

I still can't get my head around the fact that Notts County want Harry. Part of me thinks why the hell would he go there as it's not really a step up. Perhaps the clubs stance is that they want him to stay and that they have tried to put Notts County off with the amount of compensation stated. On the otherhand, if they do want him to stay why not just tell Notts County to do one? Agree with others on here that Harry would be better staying here for another season to see if he can progress from last season with a top 7 finish this term (thus raising his stock with potential employers) However, we are not privy to the facts - perhaps he wants to be further north or he may be getting earache from his missus to be around home more? Our next game is just over 48 hours away, I suppose it is too much to ask for it to be resolved one way or the other by then? This can't be the best preparation for Oldham.
Notts County go through managers like toilet role of there last 27 managers only 2 are still working in football.
Given where they are at now and the trigger happy nature of appointment and sackings Kewell could be makinga big error.
If he could guide us into the play offs with a squad he has assembled his stock would rise. Go there and if after five games he hasnt got them winning the crowd will be after his blood i really dont think he will make the end of the season.
I am not convinced Bewsher and Yems are the answer. i think we need a younger hungrier appointment. Not sure who fits the bill.
Either way its stuffed up our season at the get go. You do wonder what the players make of all this as well.
Anyone coming in wont be able to sign anyone and will likley want to change the style of play which will mean a couple of rocky months.

Given the circumstances, if it happens, I'd be more inclined to go for experience. Young and hungry is fine but not ideal when you're asking them to take over someone else's squad at short notice and start getting results straight away.
