News on the club website today, great news if it works properly this time around and imho is a positive way of spending some of the cash we've supposedly come across recently
To be run by Qayum Shakoor who seems to have a good reputation in non league as a man who finds talent and had a hand in us signing Allarakhia and Galach, my fingers are firmly crossed that it will work for CTFC and we could have a side strong enough to win the Sussex Senior Cup

I personally do not have an issue with no younger u23 u21 or whatever as we have to work within our limited resources. In an ideal world we would have the lot and we would start to see players coming through into the first tea but that requires an awful lot of investment and i do wonder if we go into this half measures we will see a repeat of past events; lets hope not.
I'm baffled by this bit. One minute we are disbanding it, the next minute we are re-opening it.
Quite who Qayum Shakoor is I don't know, comes from the same club (Waltham Forest) as the late Turgut Esendgali who I think oversaw the last academy effort.
Article here about him in which he is amusingly described as the Harry Redknapp of non league.
Get the Under 23s/academy right and it becomes self financing at our level - I reckon around £300k a year. You hardly need any cash for players and once you turn them into jewels you sell them on. BUt the biggest issue we have is a lack of a training ground. Get that and the bigger teams will be prepapred to release their players to come and train with us. Worth School and/or Oakwood aren't enough
There's no doubt a decent overhaul of our infrastructure will result in a better future for us
Like a dodgy channel 4 soap, it's back viewers. I sincerely hope it's for good this time....and to be fair, the club really should give this a go. It could be exactly what is needed for us to become self sufficient.
I just hope they don't mess the kids around AGAIN We will be watching closely CTFC.......if you bother to advertise any fixtures and what not.
I hope the club do this for the long term this time rather than the previous incarnations if the club are going to do this it must be done right - the problem is you would need to unearth some gems and sell them on for top L2 money just to break even.
300k as Ant said above is a lot of money to a small club like ours is that a price worth taking? and how long before the club are even at break even point 2 years 3 years never? i'm not sure this is the best idea i would rather see the mooted 300k spent towards our own training ground then if money permitting start an U23 team but i am sure i am in the minority with my opinion and maybe rightly so
