Our next 5 league games are all against teams above us in the table (Colchester, Newport, Exeter, Tranmere and MK Dons) An important time coming up as the number of points gained will probably define if we are to establish ourselves as serious play-off contenders. Achieving a minimum of 8 points from the possible 15 available would be a good return. Have mentioned this before, but MUST sort the away form out.

I would take 7 points from these games, but they will be very tough and we will know where we stand as a side in a few weeks
nothing but a win will be acceptable against the 5cum of the earth Newtport and Gabby better get that into the players. No exception. No excuses. Ever.
Some good tests coming up, we will certainly have a good idea of where are season is going after the next 5 games, but defining period it isn’t, we could lose all 5 games and still make the play off or win all 5 and get relegated, there’s still lots of games left.
Realistically, I don’t think we have a good enough squad to make the play offs, the first 11 is as good as any in this league, but we have no strength in depth.

and thats it no depth...best hope is injury free few suspensions get a settled team that gel and a good run and see where it takes us.
Avoiding injuries & suspensions in key areas will be crucial. I think Bonzo has joined the usual suspects in this category..(?)
We were discussing at the Cambridge game that he has a good ratio record for minutes played/goals conceded.
Another feature of his play - amid discussion on long ball, short pass - is his headed clearances. He gets distance from the tungsten coils in his neck, but they are often well directed with a low trajectory that turns it into a decent breakout ball & a very effective weapon for us.
Any old forumites out there will remember "the curse".. Yes folks it still works...
...i single Bonzo out for praise & say he is now a key asset, it was almost inevitable that he would get a daft sending off.. Sorry, i will try & curtail my supernatural gifts in future.

Newport can't be that bad- currently 3rd in the league ?
Hopefully we will actual play the first half of the upcoming home games because these teams will not be as forgiving as Yeovil and Cambridge in front of goal!! Get Bulman back in to give us some solidity in midfield.
